Destiny 2 successfully launched Season of the Splicer just three weeks ago, now entering week four of Bungie's roadmap before the new content update. The new storyline for Season of the Splicer involves the Eliksni from the House of Light, Future War Cult, Osiris, Saint-14, and of course the infamous Vex, which have plunged the Last City into an everlasting darkness, thanks to a simulation. As is customary during each new Destiny 2 Season, Season 14 adds the Paradrome Cube artifact, which offers a plethora of seasonal mods to choose from when players are putting together a good loadout for their Guardians.
There's Energy Accelerant in Destiny 2 now, and it is an incredible mod to pair with Dragonfly, Chain Reaction, Firefly, and all things that tend to cause explosions. Weapons like the Titan-exclusive Crown Splitter sword, or the Exotic trace rifle called Ruinous Effigy, are perfect pairs with Energy Accelerant. Warmind's Decree is yet another great mod to use with Void subclasses and weapons dealing splash damage, to create lots of Warmind Cells to detonate. On top of these two mods, Breach and Clear is another awesome one to have, despite its whopping total cost of nine Energy to slot into the Guardians' class item.

What Breach and Clear does is automatically reload all of the players' stowed weapons when hitting a boss or Champion with a grenade launcher, as well as debuffing them with a detrimental effect that makes them take 30% increased damage. This also applies when breaking any enemy's shield, but it is limited to these categories and doesn't apply to mini-bosses or other powerful combatants. While this debuff doesn't work with other negative effects on enemies, such as that applied with the Tractor Cannon Exotic shotgun, Breach and Clear is one of the most potent tools to use in the current Destiny 2 meta, especially in Raids, Grandmaster Nightfalls, and the likes of them.
Breach and Clear is best used with reliable grenade launchers, like Witherhoard and Anarchy for the Exotic slot, or legendary ones like the new Ignition Code, especially if paired with Blinding Grenades to apply some more crowd control, or Salvager's Salvo. In case players don't plan on using an Exotic grenade launcher to activate the effects of Breach and Clear, Destiny 2 offers a great option for the Exotic weapon slot in the form of Deathbringer with its catalyst.
Deathbringer is an Exotic rocket launcher that recently proved to be an excellent weapon for DPS, which is further increased if constantly switching to a grenade launcher to reload it passively, while also increasing the damage taken by the enemies. However, it's worth noting that Breach and Clear does not reapply onto affected enemies if players hit them while the damage debuff is already active, meaning that the duration won't be refreshed.

Considering how blatantly strong Breach and Clear quickly proved to be, the comparison with another old seasonal mod by the name of Oppressive Darkness comes quite natural. Oppressive Darkness was, just like Breach and Clear, unlocked on the fifth tier of its corresponding seasonal Artifacts, and it debuffed enemies hit with Void grenades with a weakening effect. While Oppressive Darkness applied to all enemies, regardless of their rank, it did require to hit them with Void grenades, so Breach and Clear may be more limited and yet applied much more easily.
Whether the similarity is there or not, Breach and Clear is especially good because of how only one person in a Fireteam needs to apply it for the whole team to benefit from it. This makes the mod insanely good in Raid loadouts, and is now considered a must-have for all teams. Plus, it justifies the use of Destiny 2's cool grenade launchers, so it's a win-win scenario.
