The Sims 4 has various skills that Sims can improve and master over time. There are all sorts of skills: mental, practical, and creative skills. As Sims increase their skill level, they'll get access to more interactions and features. The Painting skill has been in The Sims 4 ever since it came out; it's part of the base game.
