The general reception surrounding the Assassin's Creed franchise has been somewhat teetering on a knife's edge for quite some time now. While the series undoubtedly needed a big change after the repetitive 2010 annual AC releases, many fans weren't too keen on the major shift towards the RPG genre, and though Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla are all objectively good games, they've driven a big wedge into the fan-base. But coming hot off the heels of Assassin's Creed Mirage, the AC franchise might have found a new way out.
