Microsoft Flight Simulator is a massive game that receives regular content updates from Asobo Studio to make it even bigger. However, third-party developers have also released content for Microsoft Flight Simulator through add-ons that players can purchase to expand their game even beyond the scope of Asobo Studio's content. This includes Drzewiecki Design, who previously released a Washington D.C. add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator that has since gotten a big update.
Drzewiecki Design's Microsoft Flight Simulator Washington D.C. add-on has been updated to include some new scenery. This includes important Washington D.C. landmarks like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as well as the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial. However, the Microsoft Flight Simulator Washington D.C. add-on update has also made a big change when it comes to who is living in the White House.

Players who manage to land a plane in the White House lawn can look inside the building itself, seeing exactly who is inside the Oval Office. Previously, the Oval Office was populated by Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Melania Trump. However, the update has swapped Trump, Pence, and Melania for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Jill Biden, respectively. This was obviously down to reflect the results of the 2020 US presidential election, which saw Biden defeat Trump and become the new president of the United States.
Third-party add-ons are a great way for fans to expand their Microsoft Flight Simulator experience, but there are big updates from Asobo Studio that have helped keep the game alive as well. Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 4 is on the way, looking to add more important landmarks and notable features to locations like France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and more European locations.
Besides releasing new content for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Asobo Studio is also looking to expand the game's reach beyond PC. While the planned Xbox One port of Microsoft Flight Simulator is somewhat in limbo right now, there are still definitive plans to release Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X later this year. More specific details on the Microsoft Flight Simulator Xbox Series X release date plans should come to light in the weeks and months ahead.
Microsoft Flight Simulator earned near-universal acclaim when it launched in 2020, and so it should be a big "get" for Xbox consoles when it launches later this year. And with the game being a first-party Microsoft title, fans can expect it to be available on Xbox Game Pass the same day that it releases for consoles.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is out now for PC with Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
