Build-a-Bear reveals that it will be partnering with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but which villagers will be featured in the crossover?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is only a few days away from its first anniversary, and the game continues to be a resounding success for Nintendo. Since its release last year, Animal Crossing: New Horizons managed to sell over 30 million copies worldwide, making the game a worldwide phenomenon.

Of course, with a game as popular as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, collaborations with other franchises is inevitable. Just recently, Nintendo's own Super Mario collaborated with Animal Crossing for its 35th anniversary, and fans were treated with several in-game items inspired by the famous plumber. Now, after a cryptic tease last year, Build-A-Bear confirmed that it would be collaborating with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Details about the partnership are still being kept under wraps, but here are the villagers that we want to see in this new crossover.

Throughout Animal Crossing's 20-year history, several of Animal Crossing's villagers have managed to capture Nintendo players' affection. However, Animal Crossing: New Horizons proved that some villagers are more popular than the rest. It is expected that these superstar villagers will be the ones headlining the crossover between Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Build-a-Bear.

Ever since his introduction in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Raymond continues to be the most popular character in the game. The exact reasons for his rose to stardom remains a mystery, but most are enamored by his smug personality and adorable appearance. Given his popularity with Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, it is likely that Raymond will be one of the villagers to be available as a Build-a-Bear stuffed animal. Other popular cat villagers are also likely to be included in the crossover, such as Ankha, Bob, Felicity, Kid Cat, Mitze, and Monique.

Apart from cat villagers, other popular characters are also likely to be included in the Build-a-Bear crossover. Villagers like Judy, Merengue, and Stitches would make an adorable stuffed toy due to their colorful and unique character designs. Other popular villagers that could be featured as a Build-a-Bear toy are Marshal, Chebre, Coco, Diana, Flurry, and Megan.

Of course, while villagers would likely make up the bulk of the stuffed toys that players can expect from the Build-a-Bear partnership, it would also be nice to see some of Animal Crossing's special characters. Throughout the many iterations of the game, players would often interact with these characters, and some of them also became the unofficial mascots of the Animal Crossing franchise. Starting with the most popular special characters, it is likely that players would see stuffed versions of Tom Nook and Isabelle, both of which are key characters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Additionally, it would also be interesting to see Tim and Tommy Nook, Reese and Cyrus, Mayor Tortimer, Mr. Resetti, and Blathers. At this point, the possibility is endless, given that almost all of the 400 characters in Animal Crossing are adored by players. Luckily for players, it is likely that more information about the Build-a-Bear partnership with Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be revealed soon, with details about which characters players will be able to take home as a special furry friend.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
