The 2000s saw a lot of good action movies filled with incredible one-liners. Here's a look at some of the absolute best, ranked.

Action movies are some of the most beloved films in the industry. Every title features high-octane thrills, explosions, and stunts. They also contain some of the best characters to ever hit the silver screen, with heroes and villains that are responsible for some witty, charming, and downright cheesy quotes. Some of the most memorable lines in film were spoken as a hero defeated a villain and saved the day. There have been many great one-liners throughout the decades including the early and mid-2000s.

Here are 10 of some of the best one-liners from the 2000s ranked.

10 "Hey, Terrorist! Terrorize This!"

In the hilarious Team America: World Police film, which came out in 2004, there is a scene that takes place in the beautiful city of Paris. As a terrorist is causing mayhem throughout the city streets, Lisa comes in and proceeds to kill the terrorist with a shotgun. It's a powerful moment turned into a playful and hilarious scene with this line. A strong one-liner that stands out amongst the absurdity and humor of the film.

9 "Time To Face Gravity!"

James Bond is the protagonist of the decades-long 007 franchise and he has had plenty of great one-liners. However, the one from 2002's Die Another Day is one of his most infamous. During the climax of the film, Bond and Graves fight it out in a plane.

At the last moment, when Graves is gloating at Bond with the fact that his dreams cannot be killed, that it is time to face destiny. At the last moment, Bond is able to pull Grave's parachute cord, which launches him into a turbine engine. The moment is made all the more satisfying as Bond utters this iconic line.

8 "This Is Sparta!"

This quote is spoken famously by King Leonidas in the film adaptation of Frank Miller's 300, which released in 2006. During the events of the film, Leonidas and the Spartans are approached by a Persian herald and his escorts. There, the latter demands that Leonidas give submission to King Xerxes. In response, Leonidas screams out the famous one-liner before kicking them down the well in a wide and glorious fashion. This one-liner is beloved and is made fun of, but its power is deeply felt.

7 "I've Had It With These Mother******* Snakes!"

Samuel L. Jackson is well-known for his quotes. Most notably, the colorful way he states his quotes, which means there have been many spicy one-liners sprinkled throughout his career. Although Pulp Fiction includes a lot of great Jackson quotes, another famous one-liner occurred during 2006's Snakes On A Plane. After being determined to get home safely, Jackson screams out this one-liner before shooting the windows while everyone is strapped in. A powerful moment that has become incredibly memorable.

6 "You're Locked In Here With Me!"

The adaptation of Alan Moore's magnum opus, Watchmen, the 2009 film was mostly faithful to the source material. One of the most pivotal moments of the film happens when Rorschach is in prison along with other inmates. During the lunch period, an inmate is trying to kill Rorschach. Out of self-defense, Rorschach disarms him before quickly dowsing him with hot frying oil, causing the prisoner to scream in agony. From there, Rorschach yells the harrowing statement that everyone is locked up with him. firmly cementing Rorschach as a character to be feared.

5 "The Name's Bond, James Bond."

Most people are familiar with this classic Bond quote, as it's said throughout many of his films. James Bond is an iconic, suave, and confident secret agent, which makes this line all the more powerful. However, the well-known one-liner carries a lot more weight during the events of 2006's Casino Royale.

As Casino Royale is canonically the first Bond story created by Ian Fleming, some of the hero's style and mannerisms were still being fine-tuned. Because of this, when the final scene of the film comes to fruition and Bond utters the now-famous line, it serves as a powerful reminder of just how far James Bond has developed as a character. This is all underlined thanks to brilliant acting by Daniel Craig.

4 "Ideas Are Bulletproof."

Another film adaptation of Alan Moore's works, V For Vendetta came out in 2005. During the climax of the film, V is surrounded by Creedy and his men. Riddled with bullets, V proceeds to kill everyone before being repeatedly shot by Creedy. Demanding as to why he wouldn't die, V then proceeds to make a strong speech about how he represents an idea that is bulletproof. An excellent one-liner that shows who he is as a character both figuratively and literally.

3 "I'm Gonna Make This Pencil Disappear."

The Joker is one of, if not THE arch-nemesis of Batman and has seen numerous interpretations in film. Although the clown prince of crime is known for his bleached skin and diabolical dark humor, the Dark Knight trilogy wrote him in a much more realistic light. Although his appearance was drastic compared to what came before, this interpretation won fans over due to his incredibly imposing presence. He utters this one-liner before easily killing a mobster with one swift move, making sure everyone sees him as a threat, and not just a clown.

2 "You Shall Not Pass!"

The film adaptations of The Lord Of The Rings are legendary throughout the industry, with many citing them as masterpieces. A lot of this is thanks to the fantastic performances done by the cast. One of the stand-out characters throughout the trilogy is Gandalf The Grey, and this is shown especially well during his standoff against the Balrog in 2001's Fellowship Of The Ring. Standing between the fellowship and the monster, Gandalf yells out a powerful one-liner, screaming out that it won't pass as long as he stands in the way, right before a climax to his supposed death.

1 "Yippie Ki Yay!"

Arguably one of the most famous one-liners of all time, it is also the most quotable line from John McClane, the protagonist of the Die Hard franchise. It really helps illustrate the unhinged and somewhat lackadaisical attitude of the action character.

One of the most notable examples of this happening in the series was during Live Free Or Die Hard, where McClane shoots the enemy's gun through his bullet wound in order to kill the main antagonist. One of the strongest ways of taking the bad guy out.
