Fallout 4's Jamaica Plain has plenty of secrets that are just waiting to be discovered, including one that is buried.

In Fallout 4players can discover a town calls Jamaica Plain. The town had a plan to boost tourism before the Great War, a project that involved a time capsule. Locals could donate items and the time capsule was set to be opened in 2277. Nuclear war changed these plans, but not before the capsule was sealed.

In the aftermath of the war, Ghouls became the sole residents. Adventurers came to Jamaica Plain in search of the treasure, either being killed or scared off by the Ghouls. If the player is able to get rid of the Ghouls, they can learn the truth about the location.

10 Police Protectron Helps Clear Out Ghouls

With the number of enemies in Jamaica Plain, players might find it hard to kill them all. There is some help in one of the buildings. In a store in the middle of the town, players can find two police Protectrons. Players will need to hack their pods but this will earn two allies.

The Protectrons will aid the player in fighting against the former residents. Even if they are killed, they provide enough of a distraction to help.

9 Can Find Location Through A Note

Some raider groups want the treasure of Jamaica Plain to themselves. At a random location in the Commonwealth, players are able to find the body of a man named Hadrian. On his corpse will be a holotape inviting the former raider to Jamaica Plain.

This will also start the quest "Find the Treasures of Jamaica Plain" and add the location's map marker. This will also help players as they try to break into the treasure room at the location.

8 Can Access Church Through Rooftops

When first coming to Jamaica Plain, players will notice a church. Going up to the door will reveal it is chained, with it looking like there is no way in. Climbing to the roof of the building next door, players are able to jump through the church's windows.

Inside, players will find the corpse of a man named Luke Silverhand. On his body can be found mentats and the mayor's ID. The ID can be used to disable the laser tripwires located near the treasure room.

7 Janitor's ID Turns Off Laser Tripwires

If the player does not find the mayor's ID, there is another option. Located on the terminal near the tripwires, players can find the janitor's ID. Besides the hallway with the lasers, there is another way to the treasure.

The master door's lock can be picked, although the room behind it will be filled with gas. That means if a player shot their weapon, it would ignite the room and kill anyone close by. Sometimes it pays off to look around before running into an area.

6 Disarming Tripwires Gives Players 49 Materials

For some players, collecting materials is important. Using the ID to turn the lasers off and manually disarming them will pay off. By disarming all of the traps, players will earn themselves 49 crystal, fiber optics, and steel.

On top of being used for a settlement, the materials can upgrade armor or weapons. The materials can also be used to gain a few caps, so it is worth taking extra time to disarm the traps.

5 Can Become Settlement For Player

After the player kills all of the Ghouls, Jamaica Plain can become a settlement. This settlement is unique among the others, as there are numerous buildings that are already standing. To balance this, there is not a lot for the player to scrap for more materials.

The buildings also make it easier to build walls around the settlement for defense. Jamaica Plain is also located in the southeastern part of the Commonwealth, making it a good location to build an artillery cannon. Plus, this would mean the player owns the treasure room.

4 Unique Baseball Bat Found Here

Getting into the treasure room, players will be able to loot many unique items. At the sports display, players can find a unique baseball bat. It is labeled as the 2076 World Series baseball bat but also comes with a unique skin. Unlike most unique weapons, this one has a novel sticker.

On one side, players will find a decal that says "World Champions 2076." Apart from the appearance, the bat also has a 6% chance to make a target go flying through the air. With this weapon, players can feel like a real baseball legend.

3 A Unique Trifold Flag Found Here

When first entering the treasure room, players might notice a trifold flag. While it has the same appearance, it is called the Anchorage veteran's flag. Reading the treasure room's inventory will reveal it is a memorial flag for a Private McKinney.

Private McKinney made an appearance in the Operation: Anchorage DLC for Fallout 3. When the player makes it to a section of train cars, a soldier will be peering around the corner. Sadly, a sniper will shoot the soldier in the head. While he is only called American Soldier in the game, it is nice to know he was memorialized.

2 Unique Outfit Found On Corpse

For any player wanting to collect unique outfits, Jamaica Plain is home to one. In a blue house near the town hall, two bodies of treasure hunters can be found. On the corpse of the man is an outfit called the tattered field jacket. This is the only location the outfit can be found at.

The only benefit the outfit gives players is a +1 to damage resistance. Armor also cannot be worn over it, meaning players will be at a disadvantage against stronger enemies. Still, it is a cool item to own.

1 The Treasure Room Cost $38.79 Million To Make

The treasure room was meant to boost Jamaica Plain's economy. A time capsule was created under the town hall as a tourist attraction. The location was chosen as the town hall's basement, as it was in need of repairs. The mayor of Jamaica Plain decided to kill two birds with one stone.

Despite the original goal to boost the economy, the project came at a price. Reading the mayor's terminal will reveal the project costs $38.79 million. The terminal entry reveals the project also made the town go into debt.
