Kingdom Hearts is known for having many versions of the same character but one that shocked fans the most was Luxu. They knew about Luxu since Kingdom Hearts X, as one of the Master of Masters' apprentices, but had no idea that he was would become Xigbar, an antagonist that was introduced all the way back in Kingdom Hearts II.

Both Luxu and Xigbar were already interesting characters on their own, but since they were revealed to be the same person, players have wanted to know even more about him. Here are ten of his greatest quotes throughout the games.
10 "Hey, You Old Coot!..."
Full quote: "Hey, You Old Coot! You Said I Wouldn't Get Hurt! I Didn't Sign Up To Be Collateral Damage! No Way, As If!"
When Luxu met Xehanort, he was disguised as a resident of Radiant Garden named Braig. He agreed to help Xehanort, pretending to do so in order to obtain a keyblade. As Xehanort was trying to manipulate Terra at this time, he had Braig pretend to capture him so that the Birth by Sleep protagonist would fight using the darkness within him.
However, things didn't go according to plan as Terra ended up hurting Braig, causing him to lose an eye and gain a scar. Braig confronted Xehanort over what happened but calmed down after Xehanort summoned his keyblade. Besides the actual scene in which this quote was said showing fans that Xehanort and Braig were working together, it should also be noted that this is the first time Braig said "as if" canonically, a catchphrase he'd say many times throughout the series.
9 "Look, I Don't Know What's Inside The Box..."
Full quote: "Look, I Don't Know What's Inside The Box. But, It's Been Protected By Keyblade Wielders Since Way Back When. Aren't You Curious? I Heard It Contains Information That's Vital To All Keyblade Wielders- Secrets."
When Xigbar was finally ready to get the Master of Masters' box back, which he hid decades prior, he sent Luxord to get it. However, Luxord was suspicious of why Organization XIII would need this box, knowing that Xehanort didn't care about it.
When he spoke to Xigbar about it, the Master of Masters' apprentice pretended that he didn't have a connection to it. Luxord couldn't be fooled but continued following Xigbar's orders, leaving the two of them to be much more suspicious of each other.
8 "Hey! Mister Master..."
Full quote: "Hey! Mister Master. Oh C'mon, You Don't Even Know Your Pal? Please Tell Me The Amnesia Was Just A Sick Joke. Boy, This Is Some Cliché. Hey, You're Not... Terra? Just Gotta Check. As If. Well, Don't Sweat It. I Got Your Back."
When Xehanort possessed Terra, he pretended to lose his memory and went to Radiant Garden. He began working with Ansem the Wise as a scientist, planning to overthrow him and create Organization XIII. While doing this, Braig helped him out a lot.

When the two of them were alone, Braig tried to talk to him, but Xehanort kept up the act, causing the conversation to be completely one-sided. Though the two were already working together, this is when they started becoming a great team.
7 "Man, Does That Xehanort Scare Me..."

When Braig spoke to Young Xehanort about Master Xehanort's keyblade, he said these words. Not only is the writing of this quote great due to the clever little puns that Braig uses, but it also shows how manipulative he can be, especially to the people around him.
Braig has never actually been afraid of Xehanort nor cares what he wants, yet acts very loyal around Young Xehanort, knowing that he has to seem like a helpful member of Organization XIII in order to achieve his true goal.
6 "You Were Able To Go Back In Time..."
Full quote: "You Were Able To Go Back In Time To Just Before Your Home Became A Sleeping World, Only Because A Past Version Of You Already Existed There. And I Can See, In The Past, You Already Met Mr. Robe Guy. Yup, He Was There Then To Make Sure You Ended Up Here Now."
When Sora and Riku took the Mark of Mastery exam, Organization XIII sabotaged the test. Thinking that he was done with the exam, Sora was surprised to find himself in The World That Never Was while in the clothes he was wearing in the sleeping worlds.
Sora quickly met Xigbar, who explained why so many strange things had happened in the test. He also explained how time travel in the series worked and the importance of Sora meeting Xehanort's heartless on Destiny Islands back in the original game. Sora was shocked at how much Xehanort had planned, to which Xigbar called him an idiot that never saw it coming.
5 "May My Heart Be My Guiding Key."
In Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, a movie that came with Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, fans learned more about the Master of Masters and the roles that he gave to his apprentices. Luxu was to hide the mysterious box that the Master of Masters gave him and find his own apprentice to who he would pass the master's keyblade, No Name. It was eventually given to Xehanort years later.

Due to the master putting his eye inside of No Name, he was able to see everything that happened and wrote about it in the Book of Prophecies. When Luxu embarked on his journey, he said these words to himself, which were often used by keyblade wielders during the Age of Fairytales.
4 "Thank You, Sora's Heart..."
Full quote: "Thank You, Sora's Heart, For Pushing Him Right Into Our Clutches. Aren't Hearts Great? Steer Us Wrong Every Time."
When Xigbar mocked Sora by telling him to ask his heart a question that he had, the protagonist told him that he kept going because his heart was aching. This quote was Xigbar's response. Though this quote didn't have much meaning when Dream Drop Distance first released, it does now since fans have a lot more insight into Xigbar's character.
The fact that he relied so much on his heart and seemed like a really nice person when he was Luxu shows how different he is as Xigbar. It also makes fans wonder how his personality changed so much.
3 "I Wasn't Given A Copy Of The Book Like The Five Of You..."

Before the Keyblade War began, Ava, one of the Master of Masters' other apprentices, found Luxu. He had gone on his mission months earlier and hadn't been seen since. When she met him again, Ava asked Luxu what he was doing, to which he responded by saying that his role was to watch everything that would happen.
Ava was very confused and refused to believe what Luxu told her when he tried to explain things. Instead, the two fought, beginning the Keyblade War as prophesized.
2 "I Don't Admire One Guy Leaping Into Danger..."
Full quote: "I Don't Admire One Guy Leaping Into Danger If It Means Someone Else Might Have To Jump In To Save Him. You're All Just Lining Up To Lose Out. Dooming Others To Take The Fall With Ya. Oh, And You Can Spare Me The Usual Party Line. Yes, Hearts Are Powerful When They're Connected. But If You Put Too Much Of That Power In One Place, Some Of Those Hearts Might End Up Breaking."
When Xigbar went to Olympus, he told Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Hercules how he felt about them trying to save others. This quote has a lot more meaning after learning that Xigbar and Luxu are the same person. Luxu had to witness thousands of people die, starting with the victims of the Keyblade War, and was forbidden to interfere. This must have been very painful and is probably a huge factor for why he changed so drastically.

The Secret Ending of Kingdom Hearts III is one of the best scenes in the franchise. After Xehanort was defeated, No Name fell down from the sky and was picked up by this clever little sneak. Fans were wondering who he was as they were shocked to see Ira, Aced, Invi, and Gula, four of the five Foretellers, materialize and surround this keyblade wielder.
Ira asked if he was Luxu, to which Xigbar says these words as he takes off his hood. Fans were completely mind blown to find out that these two characters were the same person all along and are anxiously waiting to see what happens next for him.
