Bad puns aside, the latest controller creation from Pope Art looks like the perfect grab for any Halo fan. This Xbox Series X wireless controller is designed with the beloved weapon in mind and dons a familiar purple theme with a grey backdrop, translucent blue buttons, and the telltale pink-hued needles themselves.

The Halo Needler controller comes by the one and only Pope Art. Pope began his creative journey by crafting expertly designed controllers and console skins modeled after some of our favorite games. It didn't take long before his talent caught the eye of many in the games industry, leading to some impressive collaborations with some of the biggest names in the business. That includes the exclusive Claptrap-themed Borderlands 3-inspired Xbox Series X console design that the artist collaborated with Gearbox on. But we're not here to talk about Borderlands; let's dive into that Halo Needler love:

In a year rife with delays, Evil Dead: The Game has hopped atop the growing pile. Although the adaptation of the popular film and TV franchise never had a concrete release date, it was projected to launch sometime later this year. That’s no longer the case, as developer Saber Interactive announced on Twitter that it will now launch the game in February 2022.

As reported by GameSpot, the announcement states that the team needs extra time to give Evil Dead the polish it deserves. Saber also states that they’ll use the time to work on a newly revealed single-player mode. Up to this point, Evil Dead has been presented as an asynchronous multiplayer horror game in the vein of Dead by Daylight. Players take control of iconic characters such as Ash to work together to take on player-possessed monsters. Single-player will allow players to enjoy the game without buddies in tow, but Saber didn’t divulge further details. However, the studio did tell fans to expect new character updates, a new gameplay video featuring Cambell, and pre-order information in the near future.

Evil Dead: The Game will be releasing in February 2022
Hey groovy gamers, we're targeting a new release date to give the team some extra time for polish and to ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience you’re all waiting for! pic.twitter.com/c5I4OSQshA

Evil Dead: The Game was first announced during the 2020 Game Awards and resurfaced as a part of this year’s E3 festivities. The game draws inspiration from the Evil Dead movie series (minus the 2013 sort-of-reboot) and the Ash vs Evil Dead TV show. It's worth noting that a new film, Evil Dead Rise, is slated to premiere on HBO Max in 2022. With the game now launching the same year, the change in release date may prove even more beneficial if the new movie generates a renewed excitement in the franchise.

Evil Dead: The Game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

The first free update for Mario Golf: Super Rush drops today and adds a new playable character and new course, with further updates still planned.
Zack Fair has an interesting story in the original Final Fantasy 7, and he may have an even bigger impact in the second part of the remake.
In a new Fortnite Epic Quest for Season 7, Week 9, players will need to find the new Grab-itron weapon and launch a couple of toilets with it.
Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy is already getting rave reviews, with Halo being among the gaming giants primed to appear in the GTA-inspired movie.

Fatal Fame producer Keisuke Kikuchi mentioned recently that a possible sequel could be coming down the pipeline following the positive reception seen with the Maiden of Black Water re-release. Depending on how well the re-release performs in sales, he mentioned that he "would love" to tackle a sequel if that's what gamers want.

The re-release of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is poised to make its debut later this year, just before the holiday season commences. In an interview with the Japanese site FamitsuKikuchi responded to whether or not a new entry could be something fans can expect. He replied, saying, "That's what I'm hoping, we're releasing this game to commemorate the series' 20th anniversary. We're hopeful a lot of fans will take the opportunity to play the game." He added, "We'd love this to lead to a new title."

Fatal Frame has always been a beloved horror experience on the PlayStation console. With the re-release also launching on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, that franchise love is about to see a reawakening. Hearing that this new wave of horror appreciation could lead to a new game is exciting, especially since it's nearly been 16 years since the initial release of Black Water.

While I personally loved what Maiden of Black Water had to offer, it wasn't a big hit with some, including our own review reflecting a 5.5 out of 10 score. "The initial promise of the mysterious folktales involving the suicides of Mount Hikami also suffers from the protracted framework," reads our full review of the original game. "The grainy, found footage-style flashbacks are creepy glimpses into the mountain's history of bizarre water rituals involving painful contortion and drowning. However, the overlarge cast of vapid characters makes discerning everyone's motives and whereabouts difficult. Maiden of the Black Water also leans too heavily on found notebook pages to unravel its tale, made worse by its flowery emo-diary vernacular."

"Some horror games skillfully wield repetition as a tool, letting players grow accustomed to the familiar to set up scares both subtle and cuss-worthy. Unfortunately, Maiden of the Black Water is waterlogged with repeated environments and monotonous phantasmagorical photo sessions."

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 28, 2021.

Many of you logged well over 100 hours into Assassin's Creed Origins and got to know protagonist Bayek of Siwa quite well as he took on the Templars in Ptolemic-era Egypt. Sideshow Collectibles is bringing this popular lead back in a high-end statue limited to just 1,500 units.

This beautiful sculpt shows Bayek seconds after emerging from the Animus, his eagle ready to take to the skies to survey the land. A dramatic LED light display captures his synchronization and could make an excellent accent light for any game room. This polyresin statue stands at 27-inches and carries a weight of over 40 pounds.
Bayek is the latest “Animus” statue from Sideshow, joining Ezio and Altair. As beautiful as these statues are, they carry a hefty price. Bayek and Altair are just under $700, and Ezio is slightly more at $750. Altair and Bayek are available now at Sideshow and GameStop. Ezio will release between September and November of this year.

Assassin's Creed is one of gaming's most popular franchises. We don't know what the next Assassin's Creed game will be, but Ubisoft has announced the second year of content for the series' latest entry, Assassin's Creed Odyssey. A new expansion called The Siege of Paris is on the way sometime this summer, and an educational Discovery Tour is slated to release in the fall. Ubisoft has also said a new Assassin's Creed game codenamed Infinity is in the early stages of development. Leaks suggest this project will be a live-service game that will grow over time.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, have just signed a whopping $900 million deal with ViacomCBS, and a new report says that part of that investment is being put towards a brand new South Park game.

As reported by BloombergParker and Stone have signed on to create more episodes of the hit comedy TV series for Comedy Central and "several spinoff movies" for Paramount+, a streaming service under the Viacom umbrella. Earlier this year, both Parker and Stone solidified a $600 million credit with HP Investment Partners LLC, a company that confirmed that South Park's library is worth an estimated one billion dollars. Because of that, there are several other South Park-related projects in the works.

According to the site, part of that money will go towards a documentary centered around the duo's journey with South Park as well as a marijuana company and a brand new 3D South Park game. Details surrounding the game are not known at this time, including who will be publishing it. The three games that came before this new report were South Park: The Stick of Truth, which was published by Obsidian, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, which was under the Ubisoft helm, and South Park: Tenorman's Revenge, which was developed by Other Ocean Interactive and published by Microsoft Game Studios. There is also a lesser-known mobile game called Phone Destroyer, published by Ubisoft though developed by RedLynx.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of the South Park universe in the coming years. Despite its 24 years in existence, the community surrounding our favorite forever kids is stronger than ever. Parker and Stone take the comedic adventure next, is anyone's guess, but we're excited to learn more!

Oxenfree 2 Gets PlayStation Launch Announcement

Written by

Night School Studio is known for its graphic adventure titles - games that convey stories through environmental interactions. Moreover, witty, realistic dialogue and low-poly but vivid art is used effectively in past projects like Oxenfree and Afterparty. A few months ago, Night School Studio unveiled the sequel to the former game (Oxenfree) and a set platform: Nintendo Switch. Today, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals got a PlayStation launch announcement as well. You can watch the trailer below.

The first Oxenfree follows a ragtag crew of angsty teenagers traveling to an abandoned island for a weekend party. Horror ensures when protagonist Alex inadvertently activates a dimensional rift that leads to a bevy of supernatural occurrences and ghostly sightings. Players use a handheld radio to solve puzzles and mysteries while also talking to their companions with branching dialogue options. Kim Wallace reviewed Oxenfree for Game Informer and deemed it a 7.75 experience:

“To Oxenfree's credit, it kept me engaged the whole way through. I constantly wanted to see where it was going and where my choices would lead. Night School Studio clearly wasn't afraid to experiment and try some different and interesting things with a presentation in regards to a narrative-based, choice-driven game. As much as I loved parts of the overall experience, others let me down. Even so, I enjoyed learning about these characters and seeing them grow through my actions.”

Not much is known about what the sequel game will be about. The trailer showcased today is the same one from the Switch reveal. Nevertheless, Night School Studio will likely continue the series’ penchant for thrilling terror and slow-burn character development.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is slated to drop on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC in 2022. However, the latest trailer ends with the phrase, “coming soon.” We’ll have to wait for future details in the coming months.
