The final The Outer Worlds DLC has been revealed with a satirical murder mystery on Eridanos. The final adventure is a massive pivot from the Peril Of Gorgon DLC, instead, Murder On Eridanos takes the game back to more light-hearted times. If you ignore the murder, the mystery, and creepy parasites.
"Pour yourself a bowl of Purpleberry Crunch and grab a glass of the triple-distilled deliciousness of Rizzo's Spectrum Brown Vodka, because the next week's aetherwave serial of Murder on Eridanos is going to be a doozy," says Obsidian Entertainment about the latest expansion. A popular star has been slain and it's up to the player to become an investigator and take to the case like the professional they are. Shift through the suspects, find out who is guilty, and then nail them to the wall. Or arrest them. That works too.

Haven't checked out The Outer Worlds yet? If you liked Fallout: New Vegas, you should give it a look. It's made by the same team and definitely feels incredibly familiar for those that took to that particular wasteland. Our own Joe Juba gave the base title a 9.25 in his review, saying "Even if the larger beats don’t always land, The Outer Worlds shines with a constant stream of small, bright moments. An amusing interaction with a clueless guard. A sugary corporate jingle. A brutal sneak attack. A solution to a problem you are sure won’t work, but it does. The team at Obsidian excels at encouraging creative experimentation within its responsive and absurd setting, ensuring that every visit to Halcyon is full of delightful surprises."

Square Enix has confirmed that it is holding its own showcase later this month called Square Enix Presents. The show itself is expected to be just over 40 minutes long and will include the world premiere of a new Life is Strange experience as well as Outriders, Marvel's Avengers, and more news.
The Square Enix Presents showcase will go live on March 18 at 10 a.m. Pacific and one of the confirmed announcements is a brand new Life is Strange game. While details are reserved for the show, the company tells us that the latest adventure will feature an all-new protagonist with a strange new power.
Also confirmed is new Outriders gameplay, a new look at Balan Wonderworld, a celebration for Tomb Raider, more about Marvel's Avengers, a Just Cause mobile game, and a few other sprinkled-in surprises.
I know one question that will be asked about this show is "where is Final Fantasy VII Remake part II news?" While there's the possibility that this could be one of those "miscellaneous" announcements, I would temper any expectations that the team is at a place where they can share more. Is it possible? Absolutely, but nothing the company has shared points towards part II news. That being said, it's likely we'll learn more about Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade for the PS5 version of the game.
The key to enjoyment is measured expectations, right?
Personally, I'm interested in learning more about Life is Strange. The first game was a powerhouse with Max and Chloe, alongside its sequel. Life is Strange 2 also had its own charm, following the tale of two brothers. What's next could be literally anything, but the introduction of a new power is enticing.
Interested in joining in on the fun? The March 18 showcase can be seen from Square Enix's official Twitch and YouTube.

Bungie is preparing for a slew of new changes coming soon to Destiny 2 in the future, including a reversal on Sunsetting, transmog, crossplay, and so much more. What won't be changing is the inclusion of Vaulting. Vaulting is where the studio 'removes' certain aspects of the game (expansions, worlds, etc) in order to make room for new content. With the Forsaken DLC being vital to the current narrative surrounding The Crow, the confirmation that this expansion will be Vaulted in the future is a little surprising.
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Bungie general manager Justin Truman opened up about the studio's philosophy regarding Vaulting as well as what will be shelved in the future. One thing he mentioned is that aspects of Destiny 2 will not be cut in order of release.
“We want to curate that experience. We’re probably not going to go in strict chronological order – like, oh, the next Destiny 2 destination that came in the launch Destiny would be the next one to Vault. Instead, we’re thinking about it in terms of – which one of these destinations or experiences is doing the least to the overall healthy ecosystem? And that can range from – which ones have the most exciting experiences that we want to stick around, it could be to do with combatant usage – like, hey, if we get rid of this, there just aren’t that many places where Cabal are in Destiny 2 anymore…”
He added that Forsaken content will be Vaulted "at some point" because "in the same way that we don't want eight raids, it's the same thing with storylines. We don't what when a new player enters into Destiny for them to have five different competing storylines that they could start playing where in some of them, Uldren is a good guy, and in some of them he's a bad guys, and it's not clear if you're playing them out of order."
But what is Vaulted has the potential to come back, so nothing is removed forever. However, that doesn't mean everything that has gone into the Vault comes back into the game. How Bungie will be exploring what will and will not be un-Vaulted depends on which experiences players favor the most. If anything super beloved is removed, the likelihood that it will come back is extremely high. On the flip side, as mentioned before with the Forsaken DLC eventually going away, what they take and what they give back has to make sense.
For those that loved the Forsaken DLC or haven't had a chance to check it out yet, don't worry. Bungie made it clear that it's not happening anytime soon. It may not even happen in 2021. It's just happening "at some point," which could mean anything with two more expansions on the horizon.
