A new set of Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges are now available for Guardians to complete, though this week only has eight challenges.

One new way that Destiny 2 has been keeping fans engaged throughout the Season of the Chosen is with the Seasonal Challenges. Each week, Destiny 2 fans have had 10 challenges to complete to earn extra rewards, though Week 5 is a little different.

For Destiny 2's Week 5 Seasonal Challenges, fans only have eight challenges to complete. However, some of these challenges are noticeably grindier when compared to other weeks, so that may be an explanation as to the lower number.

At any rate, here is how to complete all of the Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges for Week 5.

Objective: Report to the War Table in the HELM and complete the "Challenger's Proving V" quest.

Destiny 2 players should have the Contender's Ascent routine down by now. Like previous weeks, Contender's Ascent V represents the "main" quest that players need to complete for Season of the Chosen. As usual, it revolves around completing Battlegrounds playlists, socketing the Hammer of Proving, and interacting with some of the NPCs to further the ongoing Season of the Chosen storyline.

Objective: Acquire Cabal Gold by playing Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, public events, and more.

This week, Destiny 2 players need to acquire a whopping 500 Cabal Gold to complete the challenge. That is 500 cumulatively, so if players have completed the previous versions of the Golden Reaper challenge, then they should only need to get 100 more. As usual, the best way to get Cabal Gold is by completing Strikes. Players shouldn't worry about focusing on this challenge until they have completed the rest of the board, as the other activities will help them get Cabal Gold as well.

Objective: Investigate cryptic notes left in the captain's log.

For this challenge, Destiny 2 players will need to run through the Presage Exotic Quest, which is the quest that they completed to unlock the Dead Man's Tale scout rifle. Every time Destiny 2 players go through the quest after their initial playthrough, they will unlock more Lore in the Captain's Log. So while the stated objective for this quest is a little vague, it's actually a straightforward solution. Basically, Destiny 2 players need to complete the Presage Exotic Quest a total of four times and then read the Captain's Log notes in the Lore menu.

Objective: Go to the Prismatic Recaster and discover how to unlock more lenses.

If Destiny 2 players have been following the Seasonal Challenges every week and doing their best to complete each batch, it would be virtually impossible for them to have made it this far without already having unlocked the five Lenses necessary to complete this challenge. If somehow they haven't, Destiny 2 players need to visit the Prismatic Recaster and check the requirements they need to unlock lenses. These lenses in turn allow Destiny 2 players to focus the Umbral Engrams. In any case, visit the Prismatic Recaster, pick some easy Lenses to unlock, and then complete the requirements to do so. More likely than not, most Destiny 2 players will already have this one complete and ready to claim.

Objective: Masterwork a piece of armor.

Masterworking armor in Destiny 2 is done using the game's various crafting materials. Players can masterwork legendary or Exotic gear, though Exotic gear will require considerably more materials and therefore will be far more time-consuming for Destiny 2 players to actually do. To masterwork a piece of legendary gear in Destiny 2, players will need 16,000 Glimmer, 25 Legendary Shards, 3 Enhancement Cores, 3 Enhancement Prisms, and 1 Ascendant Shard. When they have the appropriate materials, they can masterwork the armor through the "Details" menu. Any piece of armor will do, but Destiny 2 players will definitely want to make sure that they do it with a piece of armor that they enjoy using.

Objective: Acquire the Seasonal Ritual weapon.

Players will unlock the Salvager's Salvo grenade launcher by completing the Messy Business quest, itself gained from Banshee-44 in the Tower. After talking to Banshee-44, Destiny 2 players will be able to start working on Messy Business, which requires players to get 7,500 points spread across Gambit, Crucible, and Strikes, in addition to completing activities. Basically anything that Destiny 2 players do will help them make progress towards completing this quest, so players should just focus on the other stuff while trying to unlock the Salvager's Salvo in the background. Players will get bonus progress if they kill enemies with grenades and grenade launchers, so they will want to keep that in mind as well.

Objective: Earn Infamy ranks in Gambit.

Infamy ranks are essentially one's level for the Gambit playlist. Players can check what their Infamy rank is by speaking to The Drifter at the Tower. Each Infamy rank will earn players a reward, though the higher rank they are, the more difficult this challenge will be. Unlike some of the other Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges, this challenge is not retroactive, so players will have to earn five Infamy ranks in Gambit from this point forward. Complete Gambit bounties to help speed up the process a bit.

Objective: Defeat Champions in any Nightfall: The Ordeal Strikes. Earn bonus progress at higher difficulty tiers.

Destiny 2 players should be well-acquainted with Champions by now. They come in three different flavors: Barrier, Overload, and Unstoppable. As some may recall, the Seasonal Challenges for Week 4 tasked players with stunning Champions in Destiny 2, so players should be able to beat them without too much difficulty. However, having to do this in Nightfall: The Ordeal Strikes could make it take quite awhile, especially if players stick to the lower difficulty options. It will be a grind for sure, but with enough perseverance, players should eventually be able to complete the challenge.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
