Fans have been trying to figure out how Fortnite Season 5 will end and dataminers may have discovered that the finale will consist of several events.

Whenever there is a new season of Fortnite, one thing players soon begin to wonder is how the season will end. And this season in particular has been difficult to predict. Whereas the Marvel-themed Season 4 slowly built up to a battle against Galactus, which was being foreshadowed as early as the season's beginning, the eclectic cast of crossover characters that have been appearing this season, including the likes of the Mandalorian, Street Fighter's Ryu and Chun-Li, and the Xenomorph, has made it somewhat difficult to figure out how the finale will play out.

The one thing that connects all these disparate characters is the Zero Point, the mysterious object that's currently in the center of Fortnite's island and the thing responsible for creating the portals that brought over all the crossover characters. Fans have since discovered certain lines of dialogue that hint towards the Zero Point becoming unstable and it looks like this will play a big part in Season 5's finale.

However, rather than have one large event like usual, Epic Games may instead be planning multiple events to wrap up Season 5. Dataminer Mang0e recently discovered evidence that the Zero Point will send out four waves of destabilization leading up to Season 5's end date. Mang0e even theorizes that they will act as mini-events and their findings suggest that these Reality Waves, as they're called, will affect the map and NPCs. Season 5 is expected to end in a couple of weeks time on March 15, so fans may not have to wait much longer for the first of these waves to appear.

The actual endgame of Season 5 is still a mystery, but it may be safe to assume that, if reality itself is going to be affected to such a dire degree, the map will undergo some major changes once Season 6 begins. In terms of the lore, perhaps the Zero Point's growing instability is a result of Jonesy's dimension hopping, although he has been looking to recruit all these characters to prevent such a thing from happening in the first place. This has led to theories that all the crossover characters will play some role in the finale before being sent back to their home dimensions.

As for what Season 6 itself will entail, that remains to be seen. There are plenty of theories and suggestions from fans, with one being a season entirely dedicated to DC. Epic and DC already have an established relationship (there's even a Batman comic event all about the Zero Point) and after the Marvel season, a DC-centric one seems almost like an inevitability.

Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
