Lately, it seems like Fortnite is somewhat of an unstoppable force. Although the game arguably reached its peak popularity during its debut in 2017, it has remained one of the most popular free-to-play battle royale games over the course of nearly four years now, and aside from the massive hype generated by the game's new Chapter 2 Season 6 update, it has also cemented its place in meme culture as of late, with its own viral TikTok song.
With around 350 million registered Fortnite players to date, the game is bound to have some glitches and tricks discovered by its many users. During the game's last season, some players discovered a way to use the Zero Point Crystals in combination with the Bounce Pad item in order to travel quickly across the map, but now, it seems that some have discovered yet another new way to quickly travel using some of Fortnite's new wildlife and POI's.

In Season 6, the game added new mysterious Spire shrine POI's to the map, as well as new wildlife including wolves, frogs, boars, and chickens, which can be hunted in order to obtain materials for weapon crafting, Popular Fortnite news Twitter account FortniteINTEL recently tweeted a clip from user ItsWayzy trying out a new trick by carrying a chicken to the top of one of the Spire shrines, then using its launch point to send them flying, using the chicken to gain even more airtime.
Using this new quick-travel trick, ItsWayzy was able to jump from roughly the distance between Pleasant Park and Risky Reels in just about 13 seconds, which is quite impressive considering the size of Fortnite's massive map. For anyone unfamiliar with the new game changes brought by Season 6, players can visit different Spire shrines scattered across the map, and event fight Spire Assassin NPC's to both obtain the Spire Assassin's Primal Shotgun as well as a mysterious glowing orb. Players can either place the orb in the slots on the Spire shrines to gain the Mythic Spire Jumpboots, or walk near the slot empty-handed to get launched.
As for the chickens, players can either hunt them for materials, or pick them up to give their jumps an extra boost thanks to the chicken's fluttering wings, allowing them to even jump down safely from high places. Thus, the chicken's jump boost and the Spire shrine's launch combine to subsequently sent players flying across the map.
It seems Fortnite fans certainly have a lot on their plate lately, with a brand new Battle Pass for players to grind out, as well as rumors that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson could be associated with the game somehow. Although the new season has only just begun, it will be interesting to see how the rest of Chapter 2 Season 6 plays out in the future.
Fortnite is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
