Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world, action RPG, gacha game released in September 2020 on PC, PS4, Android, and iOS. The game takes place in the colorful world of Teyvat, home to seven different nations that are all tied to a specific element. And while the player controls and follows the story of the Traveler, the protagonist, they can play as many other interesting heroes.

One of these unique characters is Sucrose, referred to as the "Harmless Sweetie." She controls the element of Anemo and uses a Catalyst as her weapon of choice. Sucrose, a four-star character, is an alchemist who focuses on the study of biology. She is also the assistant to Albedo, the head alchemist over at the Knights of Favonius.
10 Sucrose According To The Official Website
"An alchemist with an insatiable curiosity towards the world and everything in it. Attached to the Knights of Favonius as an assistant to Albedo, her area of focus is "bio-alchemy." She strives to enrich the world by transforming living things with the power of alchemy. Granted, the products of her research sometimes prove to be more weird than wonderful — but on the whole, she has made monumental contributions to the field of bio-alchemy."
This is how miHoYo, the developers of Genshin Impact, define Sucrose on the game's official website. She is quite the accomplished bio-alchemist. When it comes to her research, Sucrose says she is on "the pursuit of the ultimate truth."
Sucrose also has problems when it comes to naming the specimens. In fact, she is awful at it. One of her specimens has the name: "Sweet Flower Project 9, Version 28, Scent-Strengthening Trial."
9 Sucrose According To The Game
"An alchemist filled with curiosity about all things. She researches bio-alchemy."
This is what Sucrose's in-game character attributes text reads in Genshin Impact. Most of the time, Sucrose can be found in her laboratory tinkering around with experiments or out in the field performing research. She has a stutter and may be socially awkward (unless talking about alchemy). Sucrose also is intimidated easily.
If there is one person in Teyvat she holds in the highest regard it is Albedo, her boss. Sucrose believes he is the best alchemist of all time (and beyond that just a standup fella).
8 Sucrose Looks Like A Nerd (But A Cute One)
Of course, the alchemist in the game is going to look like a nerd, but at least Sucrose makes it cute. She is dressed in her alchemist uniform which Sucrose wears for work at the investigation department in the Knights of Favonius. That being said, she mixes things up with a pair of white gloves, white boots, a blue corset, and black thigh-highs (with a garter, nonetheless). Sucrose wears her Vision (the crystal orb) on her cape collar.

Aside from her clothes, she wears black thick-rimmed glasses. Sucrose has short mint-green hair, light skin, and golden eyes.
7 Sucrose Has Scientifically Accurate Talents
While out doing some fieldwork, Sucrose will take part in combat from time to time. She spins her enemies round and round with the element of Anemo (wind) and then rips them apart with her Catalyst (a book...it's just a book).
Sucrose's normal attack is called Wind Spirit Creation; her elemental skill is Astable Anemohypostasis Creation - 6308; Sucrose's elemental burst is Forbidden Creation - Isomer 75 / Type II; her first Ascension passive talent is Catalyst Conversion; Sucrose's fourth Ascension passive is Mollis Favonius, and her utility passive talent is Astable Invention.
6 Sucrose's Taste Lives Up To Her Name
To level up a character's talents, the player needs to acquire numerous materials. When it comes to Sucrose, she likes Teachings of Freedom, Guide to Freedom, and Philosophies of Freedom; Sucrose also prefers Whopperflower Nectar, Shimmering Nectar, and Energy Nectar; and she is a fan of the Spirit Locket of Boreas.
When it comes to Ascension, Sucrose wants lots of Vayuda Turquoise (Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, Gemstone), Hurricane Seed, Windwheel Aster, and...more Nectar (Whopperflower, Shimmering, Energy). Scientifically, sucrose is a common sugar produced naturally in plants; nectar, by definition, is a sugary fluid secreted by plants.
5 Sucrose Uses Ampulla
Ampulla is the name of Sucrose's constellation, the character progression system. Each constellation is unlocked with a Stella Fortuna (which is only obtainable through pulling duplicates via Wishes). Ampulla is Latin for "The Flask."

If the player decides to invest in her, Sucrose can summon more and more Wind Spirits that will pull in enemies and launch them into the stratosphere. From levels one to six, they are Clustered Vacuum Field, Beth: Unbound Form, Flawless Alchemistress, Alchemania, Caution: Standard Flask, Chaotic Entropy.
4 Sucrose Wants To Modify Life As We Know It
The point of studying alchemist is to create new life. But Sucrose is rather interested in modifying existing life by adding greater variety and more color to the world.
She is succeeding too, despite how young she is. Sucrose was able to up the nectar output of Sweet Flowers by 70 percent, and she also created a special spray that preserves Sunsettias a month longer than without any treatment.
Sucrose's boss, Albedo, is more of a traditional alchemist. And while people doubted her at first, they recognize her talent when it comes to alchemy now.
3 Sucrose Is Not A Good Cook
Nutritious Meal (V. 593) is a special food item that the player has a chance to cook up by making Crab, Ham & Veggie Bake with Sucrose. It is her favorite dish and specialty, made with Crab Roe, ham, cream, and lettuce.
According to the game, "It looks like some strange alchemical product at first, but Sucrose insists that it is a healthy and nutritious meal, the result of many experiments and painstaking improvements. Its healthy green color comes from a mix of cream and natural vegetable juices... Wait, vegetable juices?"
2 Sucrose Used To Actually Name Plants
When Sucrose first started as an alchemist, she wanted to be sure to give all of her plants interesting names. Unfortunately, Sucrose is not that creative. But she tried.
Some of her early plants were "Grassflower," a flower that grows on grass, "Flowergrass," a grass that grows underneath flowers, and "Multigrassflower," a flower that grows on several kinds of grass.
It is easy to see why she gave up on the name game and resorted to using specific keywords from her research notes for specimens instead.
1 Sucrose Was Born On November 26
On November 26, Sucrose was born, which would make her a Sagittarius.
If the player interacts with Sucrose on her birthday, she will say, "Maybe there's something to the saying that you will be especially lucky on your birthday. Today's experiments went very smoothly, and I'm on the verge of a breakthrough."
Another one, Sucrose also shares her birthday with none other than DJ Khaled. She the best.
