A Redditor reveals a disturbing moment found in an apartment in Cyberpunk 2077, revealing how terribly children have it in Night City.

A scene in an apartment in Cyberpunk 2077 featuring two kids, one of which is playing with a gun, reveals the disturbing truth behind Night City and its civilians.

Despite the troubled launch that Cyberpunk 2077 experienced due to a plague of bugs and glitches, the game has a lot of lore behind it. Night City is a metropolis ruled by megacorporations such as Arasaka and Militech. And while some people like Jefferson and Elizabeth Peralez might be living it large in the nicest penthouses, many more people are living below than "anywhere else," according to early trailers. Players can observe citizens around the city, many of who own technology like laptops or cyberware, but appear to be homeless. This is quintessential Night City, making it known as the worst place to live in America by the year 2077.

But the citizens who often take the brunt of being impoverished or neglected by society are often the children. Children in Cyberpunk 2077 appear to just be the adult models but shrunken down to look like kids. So when it comes to some of the actions children engage in throughout Cyberpunk 2077, it's difficult to tell if they're bugs or features. But one moment caught by Redditor u/yamaykamen shows what the standard of parenting looks to be.

Though the apartment and the mom's clothing appear to look nice, two Night City children are seen sitting on the floor playing with a can and a gun while the adult sits behind them mindlessly. The implication is that the children are being so neglected that they're playing with various objects lying around rather than proper toys, though it's a bit strange considering the fashion of the young girl playing with the firearm.

Some commenters are questioning whether this is a Cyberpunk 2077 bug or if it's actually part of the game. Many believe the scene to be real, however, because, in other instances, children can be seen playing with guns. Specifically, one animation shows a child peering down the barrel of a gun, so the models were likely programmed to perform that action specifically.

Another Reddit commenter explains that they once spotted a group of kids huddled around a corpse in Night City. In the title screen cinematic, some of the first words of the radio broadcast-style narration are reporting the previous day's body count, acting as if it's the norm in the megacity. According to the commenter u/Rebaoo, most kids around the body would run away when approached, but one kid remained with a gun in their hand.

Others are reminding of a quote from Militech in Cyberpunk 2077, which pushes that there's no wage limit keeping people from their Second Amendment rights.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
