Exploring New York in Marvel's Spider-Man is one of the most enjoyable things you can do. These scenic locations stick out.

Marvel's Spider-Man is considered by many as one of the greatest superhero titles of all time, and for good reason. Insomniac's work on Sunset Overdrive made them the frontrunners to develop a title that would use movement as a fun mechanic to form one of the core pillars of gameplay, and Marvel's Spider-Man certainly fits the bill in that regard.

Of course, it's not just the movement mechanics that make the act of swinging around in Marvel's Spider-Man all that worthwhile — one should definitely give due props to the beautiful locations of the game, which compel people to swing around a faithful recreation of New York and take a long — and pleasing — gander at all the amazing landmarks that lie therein.

Keeping this in mind, here are ten of the best locations in Marvel's Spider-Man that are a visual treat in every way.

10 Ghostbusters Firehouse

Iconic landmarks are abundant in Marvel's Spider-Man, and people who manage to recognize most of the easter eggs that Insomniac has thrown in this title are bound to be pleased with their findings.

One such notable easter egg comes in the form of the Ghostbusters Firehouse, which can be seen once the player heads northwest from the Financial District's Police Department. People who noticed this building without any prompts were bound to be quite satisfied with the overall experience.

9 Sanctum Sanctorum

Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum is a pretty iconic mansion in the Marvel Universe, and people were more than happy to witness the brilliance of this area firsthand when the interiors of this area was shown in the first Doctor Strange movie and multiple other instances post this reveal.

Given Spider-Man's ties with Marvel, people were definitely expecting the Sanctum Sanctorum to make an appearance in the game... and it did! Players need to head to the south-eastern side of Greenwich to witness the magnificence of this building firsthand.

8 Central Park

Central Park is an iconic landmark of New York City that has been synonymous with this area for quite some time, and it goes without saying that any Spider-Man game that strives to recreate the city of New York has always made the creation of this area a priority.

So, it goes without saying that people who end up navigating this area in Marvel's Spider-Man would be more than happy with navigating Central Park and witnessing how the park has been recreated for themselves.

7 Empire State Building

Speaking of iconic landmarks in New York City, one can't fail to mention the glorious Empire State Building as well — something that has been recreated quite faithfully in Marvel's Spider-Man too!

Heading to the top of this building and swan-diving before swinging at the very last second is a moment that never feels old or tiring in Marvel's Spider-Man, making for a timeless experience that has been faithfully recreated in most Spider-Man games — barring a few exceptions — time and time again.

6 Avengers Tower

There's another building in Marvel's Spider-Man that is pretty tall and allows the player to dive in spectacularly cinematic fashion... and that building is none other than the patented Avengers Tower.

Taking a picture of this building and having Spider-Man talk at length about the history of this building is an awe-inspiring moment that most Marvel fans wouldn't be forgetting anytime soon.

5 Chrysler Building

Another iconic part of New York City's landscape that most people would instantly recognize is the Chrysler Building, and witnessing this tall structure in Marvel's Spider-Man is quite alluring.

So, it goes without saying that any player who decides to cross this building would definitely feel the urge to climb up this building as quickly as possible and perch upon the very top in a manner that would feel pretty cool indeed.

4 Oscorp Building

Norman Osborn ends up being a jerk in this game as well, pretty much setting the record straight as being despicable every time he's appeared in any piece of Spider-Man media.

That being said, one has to admit that swinging around that going to the very top of the Oscorp building is still a blast that no person playing Marvel's Spider-Man would want to miss out on.

3 Wakandan Embassy

While most casual fans might find it hard to even recognize the Wakandan Embassy, long-time fans of Marvel would be more than happy with discovering this area in the game.

The Wakandan Embassy is situated in the eastern area of Midtown. Players will recognize the place once they look at the lion's head that decorates the entrance to the embassy, coupled with two red-and-green flags.

2 Hell's Kitchen

While most of the easter eggs present in Marvel's Spider-Man are spread out all over the map, the iconic area of Hell's Kitchen ends up being such a noteworthy and packed area in the game that it deserves a shout of its own.

Pretty much everything iconic through either Daredevil and Jessica Jones is present in this area. Nelson & Murdock's offices, Alias Investigations, Josie’s bar, and Fogwell's Gym are all present in various parts of Hell's Kitchen for the player to encounter firsthand.

1 Insomniac Games Studio

Of course, given the stellar work that Insomniac Games have put into Marvel's Spider-Man, it's only right that they deserve to have a shout-out — regardless of how muted it might be — in their own game, at the very least.

This studio is next to another landmark, the Rand Corporation — a reference to Iron Fist — and is located in the northern part of Midtown. The fact that the building number used by the building in-game is the same as the one in real life — 2255 — is a neat little touch as well.
