Twitch streamer Ludwig claims he will never do another Subathon, and explains exactly why he's made that decision for the future.

Ludwig's Subathon on Twitch has become the stuff of legends across streaming platforms. Having started on March 14 and ending today on April 13, Ludwig Subathon makes him the first streamer to ever go for nearly a month straight — not counting the time the Subathon accidentally ended early. Considering the success Ludwig's Subathon reached, viewers wondered when his next would take place.

Ludwig addressed the question, and while some will appreciate the answer, others may find it disappointing. Ludwig doesn't plan on doing another Subathon. The Twitch streamer compared the situation to movie sequels, specifically The Hangover trilogy. He doesn't believe a second Subathon will be anywhere near as successful as the original, in the same way he doesn't think that The Hangover Part 2 achieved the same level of quality as the first film.

Simply put, Ludwig doesn't believe he can capture lightning in a bottle twice. He only originally planned for the Subathon to be a 24-hour stream, and it just so happened to end up going nearly 30 times longer than that original plan. The event has lasted so long that Ludwig has broken Twitch records, and wound up becoming the first streamer to reach 200,000 subs after Ninja. The idea that he can pull this off again by simply starting up another Subathon doesn't seem plausible.

However, the Twitch streamer does have one exception that would make him reconsider. If Ludwig has the opportunity to do another Subathon from outer space, he said he likely will take advantage of it. Such a thing is extremely unlikely, but who knows. No one expected Ludwig's stream to march on for nearly 30 days, so maybe he will get the chance to perform a Subathon from space one day. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk likes games, so maybe he'd be willing to send Ludwig past the exosphere after helping Tom Cruise shoot a film up there.

For the moment, Ludwig's Subathon days are over — at least, they will be after this first one officially ends. Afterward, he plans on donating all the profits he made from the final day of the Subathon to charity, namely St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Humane Society. As it stands, Ludwig plans to use the final day to try and beat Ninja's record of most-held Twitch subs at a time. It'll be interesting to see if he manages to accomplish it or not; he has around four hours left to do so at the time of this writing.
