Fans that want to become Paranormal Investigators in The Sims 4 must first obtain a license, and this guide details how that is done.

The Sims 4's Paranormal Stuff Pack features a brand new freelance career in the Paranormal Investigator. That said, players cannot dive into this spooky profession without any preparation, as there is a certain prerequisite that must first be fulfilled. Fortunately, it is not too difficult to meet the requirement for becoming a Paranormal Investigator in The Sims 4, and this guide is here to provide full details on exactly what must be done.

To put things simply, The Sims 4 players that want to become a Paranormal Investigator must obtain a license, and that certification can be earned in two different ways. The fastest of those ways is to just purchase the Paranormal Investigators License from the Rewards Store for 3,000 points, though that is not the recommended approach. Instead, players are advised to increase their Medium skill, as they will gain access to a free license at maximum level.

For the uninitiated, Medium is a skill that was introduced in the Paranormal Stuff Pack, and it has a direct impact on how successful a player is as a Paranormal Investigator. Fans can increase this skill by spending some time with the new Seance Table, which can purchased for $333 from Build/Buy, and it is capped at Level 5. Once this level has been reached, all a player needs to do is speak with Guidry in The Sims 4 about becoming a Paranormal Investigator, and he will provide the license of interest.

With the Paranormal Investigator License in hand, fans should pull out their phones and select Freelancer from the Career menu. Players should then select the Federal Bureau of Spooky Investigation, and they will be able to sift through Paranormal Investigator Gigs in The Sims 4 after they have spoken with that agency. Notably, these Gigs come in three varieties, Beginner, Adept, and Expert, and the payment that is awarded upon successful completion is contingent upon the Gig's difficulty.

As previously mentioned, the Medium skill in The Sims 4 plays an important role in getting through these various tasks, but it is not the only thing that new Paranormal Investigators should focus on. Indeed, the Brave trait, which can be unlocked through the Rewards Store for 8,000 points, can also provide a great deal of assistance with these spooky Gigs, as it will make Sims more resilient. Additionally, players should make sure to stock up on Sacred Candles and Bizarre Idols before they jump into a Paranormal Investigation Gig, especially one of a high difficulty.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
