Respawn Entertainment has taken to Twitter to tease upcoming content for Apex Legends, but references to popular anime are hidden in the background.

Respawn Entertainment recently released a new teaser image for Apex Legends and fans are getting hyped for a potential anime crossover due to some hidden references.

Eagle-eyed anime fans recently noticed some hidden details in a recent Apex Legends teaser which included several issues of Japanese manga next to a Nessie plush and in the background. This recent teaser from Respawn Entertainment includes hidden references to popular manga such as Death Note, My Hero Academia, and Land of the Lustrous.

The recent teaser included several anime references, but Respawn Entertainment has yet to drop any hints as to what Apex Legends fans can expect in the future. The teaser also included a table with a statue of a Valkyrie on it, which could be a hidden reference to an upcoming Legend in the game which captivated fans of the game who are unfamiliar with anime.

Dedicated anime fans will recognize the familiar My Hero Academia manga on the shelf next to the Nessie plush due to its colors and the small image of characters such as Deku, Kacchan, and Shoto located at the bottom of the spine. The hidden reference to Land of the Lustrous is less obvious to those who aren't fans of the series as the four manga volumes in the image referencing the series don't have as much detail as the others.

The reference to Death Note is even more obvious as anime fans can basically make out the name of the series on a big black cover that encompasses six issues.

The table in the Apex Legends teaser includes several small references including a calendar with several dates in April circled (including April 21st), several candy bars, a map with two locations circled, a red jacket, and a letter with the name Vinson at the bottom. Many Apex Legends fans have taken to the comment section of the recent teaser image, suggesting that a new update will release on April 21st --the jacket located on the table belongs to Mia, and the name of the upcoming legend will be Vinson. The Valkyrie statue located on the table has been used to tease the upcoming legend before, suggesting that the new character will be able to soar through the sky.

Apex Legends is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
