Genshin Impact's Version 1.5 update might its biggest one yet, with a slew of new content showcased during today's Special Program.

Many eyes are on Genshin Impact's Version 1.5 after a slew of leaks, possibly revealing what can be expected with the next major update due towards the end of the month. Developer miHoYo stayed quiet after asking players not to leak unreleased information to the public, so the outcome of 1.5 following the incidents has been quite the mystery.

But today, Genshin Impact premiered the Version 1.5 Special Program, a showcase detailing the gameplay and content coming with the large update. But alongside the confirmation of all the previous 1.5 rumors and a slew of new content, Genshin Impact was also given a release date for the native PS5 version, coming on April 28, the same day Version 1.5 is set to release.

The biggest question players have following the Special Program is if the Genshin Impact Version 1.5 leaks are true. Fortunately, it looks like all of the leaked information turned out to be true, and miHoYo kept the content in the next update rather than delaying it.

Yanfei and Eula, the four-star Pyro catalyst wielder and five-star Cryo claymore user that were leaked just before Version 1.4 dropped, will arrive during 1.5's lifespan. Luckily, miHoYo didn't decide to delay the new characters in light of the leaks, and even shows off some of their gameplay during the Special Program. Unlike other claymore wielders, Eula moves are much more fluid, compared to gymnastics by the voice actors during the Program. Yanfei, on the other hand, is the first four-star Pyro Vision to wield a catalyst as her weapon of choice. Interestingly, the Special Program revealed that the two characters are somehow related, but the players will need to discover this mystery on their own.

As for the banners themselves, just as fans were hoping, Zhongli will get another dedicated banner on April 28, followed by Eula three weeks afterward. Yanfei will be on Zhongli's Gentry of Hermitage banner. Additionally, a new five-star weapon, the Song of Broken Pines claymore, and two sets of Artifacts, Tenacity of the Millelith and Pale Flame, will also be released during Version 1.5. Tenacity of the Millelith specializes in HP and shield strength while Pale Flame increases ATK and Physical DMG. Song of Broken Pines has a Physical DMG bonus as well.

It was rumored that a new Domain will come to Genshin Impact with 1.5, called Ridge Watch, where players can farm for the new Artifacts. Ridge Watch is located south of Dawn Winery and west of Wyrmrest Valley.

As rumored, Diona will get her very own Hangout Quest, similar to Bennett's, Noelle's, Barbara's, and Chongyun's that dropped with 1.4, but it likely won't have romantic undertones as Diona is designed to look like a child. Unexpectedly, alongside Diona's rumored entry to the Hangout Quests, Noelle's story will expand into Act 2, but whether or not players will see a full-blown romance with the maiden is still a mystery.

Additionally, players were looking forward to a rumored house customization system, similar to miHoYo's other gacha game Honkai Impact. With Version 1.5, players will indeed get to build and decorate a player home complete with a variety of pets such as cats, dogs, and even cranes in what's known as the Serenitea Pot.

Players will get to choose between three different locations: Floating Abode, Emerald Peak, and Cool Isle. Decorations include indoor furnishing like beds, tables, and bookshelves as well as attractive outdoor buildings. All of these furnishings are managed by an NPC named Tubby, who will give various blueprints for the decorative items. Additionally, players can invite one another to their Serenitea Pots. The Special Program also teased that more content for the Serenitea Pots will come in the future.

Version 1.5's chapter will be titled "Beneath the Light of Jadeite," and is focused on Zhongli. A new weekly boss relating to Zhongli named Azhdaha will be available, and the dragon plays an important role in Zhongli's past. Azhdaha has the ability to change its element, meaning more team composition balance is required to fight him. Likewise, Act 2 of Zhongli's story quest, Historia Antiqua, and Act 1 of Eula's story quest, Aphros Delos, will also be released during Version 1.5's lifespan.

And in terms of weekly bosses, a new Hypostasis, the Cryo Hypostasis, will finally make its debut. Another new boss will also premiere called the Abyss Lector. Similar to the Abyss Herald, an assassin opponent, the Abyss Lector is also from the Abyss Order but is Electro and operates more like a mage.

Yet another big addition to Genshin Impact with Version 1.5 is a ton of events. First is the Energy Amplifier Initiation, where players must gather fragments. Using an Energy Amplifier, an ancient relic, players will be able to unleash the power of the fragments during combat, granting special effects to the team. Fragments are located throughout Teyvat. Further down the line in this event, players will be able to enter a new Domain called the Twisted Realm, which grants effects on the player's team.

Diona will also play a role in the new event as well, which is likely why her Hangout Quest is the next to premiere. The Cryo bartender will be one of the various awards from the event shop, so players who haven't pulled her from the gacha yet have a chance to obtain her for free.

Another event called Battlefront: Misty Dungeon will also appear during Version 1.5. Here, players will need to complete six themed trials, but players will only be able to use characters from a set pool. Additionally, food and potions will not be accessible during the event's quests. This event is heavily strategy-based but comes with rewards like Hero's Wit and Primogems.

A third event will debut during 1.5 as well called Mimi Tomo. This event is about an Unusual Hilichurl that's causing trouble for some merchants. With the help of the child NPC Ella Musk, players will have to communicate with Hilichurls in their native language and persuade them. By participating in the Mimi Tomo event, players will earn Liyue-style furnishing blueprints for their Serenitea Pot homes.

Windtrace is the fourth event happening after April 28, which is very similar to Prop Hunt made popular thanks to Garry's Mod and Minecraft. Players can disguise themselves as objects and engage in sessions of hide-and-seek.

Finally, the fifth event is called Overflowing Mastery, where players will have three chances each day to collect double the amount of rewards from certain Domains of Mastery. This is the first event to increase the amount of Talent Leveling materials earned by spending Resin, making it the perfect opportunity to grind and level characters, perhaps for the two new Genshin Impact characters.

Genshin Impact is out now for Mobile, PC, and PS4, with PS5 releasing April 28. A Switch version is still in development.
