Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software is making a drastic change to the game's contracts so that the god mode glitch can be stopped.

Raven Software may be focused on setting up the Call of Duty: Warzone nuke event, but it also is taking some measures to eliminate the god mode glitch from the game. As such, Most Wanted contracts will not be obtainable inside Call of Duty: Warzone matches going forward, as they are seemingly the direct cause of the exploit.

While this may seem like a step too far in the eyes of some fans, Call of Duty: Warzone’s god mode glitch has effectively ruined entire lobbies in the past two days. Giving players impacted by the glitch full invincibility, nothing can hurt them, with bullets bouncing off them and the storm or radiation zones having no effect. Living up to the “god mode” name, the bug guarantees a win for whichever players are fully invincible.

The issue is apparently tied to players triggering a gulag animation at the end of Most Wanted contracts, and it is hardly the first contract-related bug seen inside Call of Duty: Warzone. This same type of contract has seen players highlighted after leaving Call of Duty: Warzone’s gulag, essentially ruining their experience and guaranteeing another death. While this was troublesome, the same contracts causing a god mode glitch has proven to be even more game-breaking.

While it is worth noting that this glitch could be triggered accidentally, ensuring that not every invincible player is trying to cheat, players that know the trick behind the bug have been able to enter the state with ease. As seen in the clip, a Call of Duty: Warzone player even attempted to perform a finishing move on an invincible enemy, with their opponent rising up from the ground immediately after they were executed. With several sniper shots not killing the enemy, either, the overall effectiveness of the god mode glitch is unparalleled, as there is nothing that can be done to stop a player that is making use of it.

With an immediate fix needed for the issue, Raven Software has removed Most Wanted contracts from the game entirely. This has been a common strategy for the developer, as the most serious bugs are stopped in their tracks by stripping some problematic content from the game. Call of Duty: Warzone’s attack helicopters have been removed twice, while the Armored Royale game mode was taken out of the game due to an invincibility exploit.

With Call of Duty: Warzone’s Armored Royale mode still not returning, and attack helicopters being gone for several months before making a comeback, it may be a while before Most Wanted contracts come back. When they do, hopefully this bug is no longer an issue.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
