Many superstars have had the opportunity to grace the cover of WWE 2K titles, though who is more deserving of it than The Boss Sasha Banks?

WWE 2K22 has fans hoping it's a worthy entry into the series, especially after WWE 2K20's lackluster reception. For the first time in 2K series history, production time has been extended one more year to ensure Visual Concepts can meet the necessary quality standards fans expect. On top of this, 2K has brought on a new Executive Producer over at Visual Concepts, hopefully adding the much-needed improvements the series has been steadily lacking for some time. The big question now is which superstar will be featured on WWE 2K22's cover?

WWE 2K22 was revealed during Wrestlemania 37 on April 10th, showcasing the likes of Rey Mysterio and Cesaro squaring off while demonstrating beautiful visuals. In past WWE 2K titles, the cover art featured a superstar who may have been of legend status such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John Cena, to name a few. In the more recent releases, 2K has featured the likes of rising superstars such as Seth Rollins, Aj Styles, and Roman Reigns/Becky Lynch.

Since WWE 2K20's release in 2019, many superstars have come up in ranks during the "Thunderdome Era," many of whom are more than qualified to highlight the cover of WWE 2K22. The obvious answers could be that of Drew McIntyre, Cesaro, or even The Fiend, though there is another contender who has achieved many accolades in their career and that superstar is The Boss Sasha Banks.

Sasha Banks is one of the four horsewomen and has achieved many accomplishments throughout her career in WWE. She was NXT Women's Champion, WWE SmackDown Women's Champion, WWE RAW Women's Champion (5 times), and WWE Women's Tag Team Champion with Bayley (2 times). She is also the fourth ever WWE Women's Triple Crown Champion and third ever WWE Women's Grand Slam Champion. Sasha Banks has also taken part in the first-ever women's Hell in a Cell match, headlining a PPV for the first time ever. Sasha Banks has wrestled in every women's Hell in a Cell since.

Since the start of the Thunderdome Era, she has had a very notable presence on RAW feuding with many high-profile superstars such as Carmella, former best friend Bayley, and most recently Bianca Belair. Sasha Banks has also appeared in The Mandalorian, making the break into acting like many of her colleagues of the past, so her star power has certainly elevated since the beginning of 2020.

Becky Lynch, alongside Roman Reigns, was featured on the cover of WWE 2K20, the first time a female superstar had been featured on the cover of a WWE game since Stacy Keibler in WWE Day of Reckoning back in 2005. This, coupled with the "Women's Revolution" that ignited in 2015, means there is a good chance that another female superstar will grace the cover of a WWE 2K game in the future, perhaps in WWE 2K22. After the less than stellar reception and the many frequent bugs in WWE 2K20, fans of the wrestling franchise are eager for an entry that can rival their expectations. This would be great timing for Sasha Banks to grace the cover as she has had arguably the best year of her career thus far. What better way to claim the latest entry as being the best it has ever been than to have The Boss Sasha Banks on the cover.

During an episode of RAW in 2017, Seth Rollins made a comment about the WWE 2K cover superstars such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, and The Rock, and that they weren't active wrestlers. This, of course, is not fair to the current roster of hardworking superstars vying for their spotlight. As a result, however, Seth Rollins ended up becoming the cover superstar for WWE 2K18. Notably, Sasha Banks threw shade at WWE 2K20 for her low Power Rating in the game. This type of vocal response worked for Seth Rollins, so it could work for Sasha Banks as well. Only time will tell as more information on WWE 2K22 comes out.

WWE 2K22 is currently in development for unspecified platforms.
