A fan video showcases what a special Grand Theft Auto 5 feature would look like if transferred over to Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 had the benefit of coming after Rockstar Games refined the massively successful Grand Theft Auto 5, allowing the company to transfer many familiar assets over to the western title. One feature that didn't have the fortune of being carried over was GTA 5's extremely cool character switch sequence, although one fan took the liberty to craft a really cool concept video.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is already filled with tons of interesting discoveries that players have uncovered. Some have realized that Arthur Morgan talks to himself more often than not, while others have discovered striking similarities between historical figures and some of Red Dead 2's memorable characters. Easter eggs aside, the game also isn't without it's round of strange glitches and bugs. Still, if the staying power of GTA 5 is any indication nearly a decade later, Red Dead 2 has a long way to go in terms of what fans can do with the open-world sandbox.

Redditor BesterSpieler posted a clip over on the r/reddeadredemption subreddit. It starts off with Arthur sitting in a small wooden shack before a button is pressed, bringing up a familiar greyscale menu with the option to switch to Sadie Adler, a treasured character of the franchise. Shortly after confirming the switch, the game pulls back in a manner similar to GTA 5, showing a birds-eye view of the town that Arthur was positioned in. A quick pan over to a cliff some miles away reveals Sadie as she approaches the edge looking over the town.

In the comments, the Redditor revealed that they didn't make use of any mods to achieve the effect, instead using pure video editing. Some commenters really enjoyed the clip, even requesting that Charles be included in a follow-up video. Others pictured Micah instead, comparing the antagonist to the psychopath Trevor, and some even figured that John would be an obvious shoo-in.

One commenter felt that multiple main characters would harm the story, although BesterSpieler felt that it would be a great idea for future story DLC. Fans are already petitioning for more Red Dead Redemption 2 single-player story content, so it would be a great way to give fans what they want while expanding on the universe. On the other hand, it might not be long before a group of determined modders takes it upon themselves to tweak the game and make the feature a reality.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
