Days Gone is a pretty intense and entertaining experience. Here's a look at how you can get a gander at the secret ending.

Days Gone received a fair amount of bad press after its release. Many of the critics had not taken the time to play all the way through the story before giving the title a fair chance. Player reviews for the game are much better, and gamers should not be deterred by all of the game's negative coverage after its launch.

While the game can take a couple of hours to get into, it is certainly a great game for players that enjoy open-world exploration and character development. Players that are not yet finished with the campaign may want to know that there is an extra ending to experience. This guide will cover how to unlock the NERO plotline ending in Days Gone.

The so-called "secret ending" is really just an added cut scene players can unlock after completing the main campaign storyline. To unlock it, players will need to finish all of the Finding NERO missions. There are a total of twelve Finding NERO missions for gamers to complete.

Players that have finished the main storyline and all of the Nero missions will receive a call from O'Brien, a Nero scientist. O'Brien will not call immediately. It may take some game time for the quest to initiate. After the call, gamers will need to ride over to the quest marker on the map. There, a cutscene will begin.

All players need to do to finish up the quest is sit back and enjoy the cut scene. O'Brien will claim that he has summoned Deacon to warn him. Next, O'Brien will reveal that he is infected with the virus, which is progressing quickly. The NERO scientists knew all along that the virus was mutating more aggressively beyond their control. O'Brien was essentially a guinea pig and pawn to the NERO head scientists. The scientist will also state that he is convinced nothing can be done to combat the virus, which will get worse and worse as time goes on.

It is unclear what role O'Brien will play in a future sequel. He will most likely be an antagonist struggling with the effects of the virus as it takes hold of his central nervous system. Days Gone players are wondering where the infected scientist is going in that helicopter and why he decided to warn Deacon in the first place. For now, gamers will have to wait and see what the future holds for Deacon and O'Brien.
