Another day, another great Minecraft build, as a player shows off their real-life arcade machine that looks just like the in-game chest.

Minecraft player u/Kashmir03 took to Reddit to show off a functioning arcade machine their brother built that looks just like an in-game wooden chest. The creation holds a PC that players can use to play Minecraft and, just like the chest, it opens and closes.

One of the most highly acclaimed video games of all time, Minecraft has been inspiring such creations since its release in 2011. Arcade machines have been around for decades now, but this creation is likely one of the first homemade tributes to both the game and the iconic gaming system.

One of the iconic blocks in Minecraft, the wooden chest is a player's best friend, as it holds up to 27 unique stacks of items and can be easily created with wooden planks. Storage is crucial in a game that asks players to gather materials and better their defenses, so building this arcade machine to look like the Minecraft chest works well.

Building this replica in the real world likely took more than the eight wood planks required by the in-game recipe but U/Kashmir03's brother's creation looks relatively close to the in-game chest. Shown open and closed, the reconstruction has a screen, keyboard,  joystick, and a rolling ball for interaction with the game.

Sandbox players are often asked by the game to flex their creative muscles and that has led to some wild creations in games such as Valheim, Rust, and of course Minecraft. This build takes that creativity to another level and acts as a tribute not only to the best-selling video game but to arcade cabinets as well. The combination results in a new way to play Minecraft and the construction should immediately be recognizable to anyone even vaguely familiar with the game.

The only blocks that really stand out more than the Minecraft chest from the game are the crafting table, the stone furnace, and the grass block. Any one of those three would work great as a substitute build and might actually elicit more of a response from players and be even more recognizable. Then again none of those blocks open like the chest does and so it makes sense why u/Kashmir03's brother went with the chest.

Opening the chest shows off a pretty good recreation of a classic arcade machine. U/Kashmir03's brother's build is true to the game and definitely has a unique flavor as well because of its style. The arcade machine style works surprisingly well and the craftiness that was required for this build should inspire even the Minecraft developers.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
