Outriders reveals that the restoration of players' inventory lost to bugs will give players replacement pieces of loot with god rolls.

People Can Fly's looter-shooter Outriders has battled with a variety of various issues since its launch at the start of the month, from server issues to a bug that was wiping the inventory of unfortunate Outriders players.

Obviously losing one's inventory in a game driven by collecting good loot can be quite the devastating blow. Thankfully, People Can Fly announced that not only would it fix the issue, but that it would be able to give lost items back to impacted Outriders players. When the restoration was announced the developers had few details to share, and players have been waiting to hear when they can expect to get their inventory back.

While the developers do not have an expected date for the restoration as of yet, they did make a detailed post to the game's subreddit to provide more information on how the restoration will work. Importantly, the post details that not only can players expect to get all of their lost gear back, but it will be adjusted to their current highest gear, taking Outriders' world tier level into consideration, as well as having god rolls for its stats. This means that many players will receive pieces of gear that are stronger than those they lost, especially if they stuck with the game and continued playing after their inventory was wiped.

The post provides a detailed breakdown of how the process will work, as well as identifying different classifications of how players were affected that will be addressed separately to ensure accuracy. For players who had their entire inventory wiped and had their characters rendered unplayable, they will be getting 20 lost items back prioritizing first higher rarity items followed by how recently the items were acquired. Players who only lost a couple of items from bugs will not be eligible for the full 20 lost items, but will instead only receive replacements for Outriders' highly coveted legendary items because those players are harder for their system to identify.

It is encouraging to see People Can Fly being able to restore the inventories of fans impacted by the inventory wipes. The post does state that developers need a little bit more time to work on the process to ensure that it is both accurate and to make sure that it runs smoothly. The restoration does come ahead of a promised appreciation package that will be given to all Outriders players as thanks to fans for sticking with the game while the developers dealt with the various issues.

Outriders is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
