Announced last month, Warhammer 40,000 will be getting its latest video game adaptation courtesy of Necromunda: Hired Gun. The title puts the player in the role of an intergalactic bounty hunter, tasking them with catching foes using their agility, an array of high-powered weapons, and a very violent pet dog. The game's slated to launch later this year and just got a new trailer on Focus Home Interactive's official YouTube channel.
The promo focuses on what players will be able to do through Necromunda: Hired Gun's campaign, ranging from the enemies they'll be able to face to the locations they'll be able to explore. It clocks in at just under two minutes long and comes brimming with new information, as well as plenty of fresh, chaos-fueled gameplay.

The game takes place on the titular planet of Necromunda, with the footage making plenty clear that it's not a particularly welcoming environment. Its urban, hive-like city surface is infected with crime and gang warfare, while its streets are dominated by industrial gun factories that produce arms for the Imperium of Man. It's this dog-eat-dog world that players will be attempting to navigate as they earn money from jobs and build their way through the bounty hunter rankings. To do so they'll have to fight plenty of familiar Warhammer 40,000 faces, including rogue doctors, dome runners, genestealers, corpse cults, and enforcers of the Inquisition.
Completing jobs will allegedly entail finding people, questioning suspects, uncovering hidden loot, and massacring lots of enemies with the help of the player's trusty dog companion. These missions will also be spread across several varied locations, including train yards, gang warzones, giant furnaces, fighting pits, chem labs, and more. It looks to be an absolutely sprawling game filled with fan-favorite Warhammer 40,000 factions and locations, as well as an action-packed gameplay experience sporting plenty of explosive shootouts and tons of sci-fi spectacle.
The game is slated to launch digitally on June 1 for PC and consoles, with a physical version following suit on June 30. It won't be the only Warhammer game coming later this year, with Warhammer 40,000: Darktide also slated to launch in 2021. It's a four-player co-op experience in the same vein as Warhammer: Vermintide, seeing players come together to investigate an ominous cult looking to take over the planet of Atoma Prime. Darktide will be available on PC and Xbox Series X, with it slated to be a console exclusive for Microsoft's hardware.
Necromunda: Hired Gun is slated to launch on June 1 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
