Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown drops a new trailer, revealing two luxurious car brands that players can purchase in-game.

Fans have been long awaiting Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown ever since its predecessor released a decade ago in 2011. Though it's taking its time in development, a new trailer hopefully means a release date will soon be announced.

While the Test Drive Unlimited open-world series might seem like just another racing experience, what makes it stand out against the rest is the feature of high-class lifestyle and fashion, with sleek vehicles such as Ferraris, Bugattis, and Lamborghinis, as well as avatars that can be decked out head-to-toe with luxurious clothing. The same can be said for the upcoming Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.

However, players can expect some changes since the original developer Eden Games and publisher Atari have been replaced with KT Racing and Nacon, respectively, though the head of the project, Alain Jarniou, worked on both TDU and TDU 2, so fans know the game is in experienced hands. KT Racing plans to allow players a variety of ways to complete the game while keeping with the same structure as past installments.

The name "Solar Crown" was used as a competition seen in previous Test Drive games, but in the newest installment, it might even be a complete posh brand. In the newest trailer titled "Head to Head," the Solar Crown logo appears again as it did in the reveal trailer, this time on a woman's ritzy vanity, as well as on the license plates of an Aston Martin and a Range Rover, going head to head against each other.

Much like the original Test Drive Unlimited, which featured a replica creation of Oahu in-game, Solar Crown will feature a 1:1 recreation of an unannounced island.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
