Call of Duty: Warzone's nuclear bomb event is being spoiled by server crashing issues, leading fans to voice their frustrations on social media.

Today marks the end of the long wait for Call of Duty: Warzone's hyped-up nuclear event, which is kicking off Season 3 by taking Verdansk back in time. Unfortunately, it seems that Call of Duty: Warzone's servers were unable to handle the flood of players logging on to witness the event, leading to players seeing long load times.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been teasing the nuclear event for months now, and everything has pointed toward the event as the largest to happen in the game thus far. Many players were looking forward to the event, and many have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at the issues keeping them from watching it live.

The issue seems to have come from Call of Duty: Warzone updating for Season 3 right before the event, which kicked out the players that jumped into the game early to wait. When all those players logged in, as well as all the others who wanted to see the event, it bogged down the game's servers and is now leading to some incredible wait times. Activision has said it is investigating the issue, but many fans are poking fun at the company regardless.

A common theme in the uproar is showing Activision servers caught in a raging inferno as the publisher tries to accommodate the surge of players logging on. Others are instead finding memes to take jabs at Activision, saying it is incompetent.

The server issues come after Call of Duty: Warzone has been under scrutiny from its community for its ongoing battle with cheaters, frequent meta imbalance, and a seemingly endless rotation of bugs. All of the issues have led to many community members calling on developers Raven Software and Treyarch to make big changes to address the game's issues.

Many players are hoping that Season 3 can revitalize the game, with some of its biggest names like Dr Disrespect voicing their support and hopes for Call of Duty: Warzone. While the community's frustrations with the event are disappointing, hopefully the event and what it leads to in Season 3 will make the long wait times worthwhile. Nobody will know until players are able to get into the game to witness the event for themselves, and to test out the new content coming when Season 3 starts tomorrow.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
