Those big black eyes don't always work on other animated properties, but it seems Space Jam 2 has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Space Jam: A New Legacy came out firing on all cylinders with a trailer that’s packed with wild references to other WarnerMedia properties, and even some NBA easter eggs featuring LeBron James and Lola Bunny. So, it’s no wonder Funko Pop is putting its bobblehead charm all over it.

25 years after the first Space Jam's release, the generational divide that separates Michael Jordan’s dynasty and James' growing legacy is there for everyone to see as King James now faces the challenges of modern parenting when his son looks to deviate from his path. The video game-inspired plot brings back all of Jordan’s former animated teammates, except for poor old Pepe Le Pew, and they're are all getting the Funk Pop treatment.

Funko Pops are almost a given nowadays for practically every pop culture icon that has a new movie or upcoming TV show, and sometimes they can even be a source for spoilers, as was the case with Marvel Studios' plans for Vision in WandaVision. However, in the case of Space Jam 2, it would appear the company is sticking to recreating characters that were already seen on the movie’s official preview. The figurines planned for release include the Tune Squad’s entire starting lineup of James, Lola Bunny, Bugs Bunny, and the Tasmanian Devil, as well as some other key roster members like Porky Pig, Tweety and Granny, Sylvester, and Marvin the Martian.

Over on the Goon Squad roster, James' opponents will be an all-star lineup made up of some of his NBA rivals like Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson, teammate Anthony Davis, and WNBA star Diana Taurasi as the White Mamba. Unlike in the first Space Jam, the superstars LeBron and the Tunes will face still bear a close resemblance to their real-life counterparts.

The Space Jam 2 Funko Pop collection will still feature some retailer-exclusive figurines. For example, the jumbo-sized LeBron will only be sold by Walmart while another variant of King James will head over to Amazon, and Porky Pig is set as a Funko Pop store release.

Although media icons like Bugs Bunny and even LeBron himself are no strangers to the world of Funko Pops, the rest of the cast is new in these surroundings, and not everyone can pull off the Funko look as well as Marvin the Martian. It also looks like Tune Squad is being coached by Daffy Duck who’s the only one not wearing a proper basketball uniform, but at least Zendaya's Lola Bunny will be.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is scheduled for release in theaters and HBO Max on July 16, 2021
