Players of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla are inviting others to die in-game to help fellow fans complete an achievement.

There seems to be nothing like the shared camaraderie between the gamers who thoroughly enjoy playing Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Just recently, some of the game’s fans have found an easier way to redeem a powerful AC Valhalla weapon, the Norden's Arc bow. And now, the online player base has come together once again to help their fellow Vikings complete a seemingly bugged achievement within the game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is no stranger to bugs and glitches, and most of its players are extremely aware of this. With the development team continuously doing housekeeping such as fixing in-game character’s facial animation glitches or resolving important quest progression issues, players have taken it upon themselves to give aid to fellow fans who only want to complete the many available challenges but find themselves stuck within one of the game’s annoying bugs.

In the official Ubisoft forums, a user named TheeElf shared their speculation that the Ubisoft Connect challenge, “Hall of the Slain,” is currently bugged. This is confirmed by the dev team who has stated in their known issues list that avenge quest bodies have been difficult to spot for some players. In this specific challenge, players have to “avenge” the death of another real-life player's Eivor within Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In order for their efforts to count towards the achievement, players have to search for and eliminate a group of enemies that are supposedly responsible for their fellow players' deaths.

TheeElf invited other players to test their theory by making their game’s Eivor go to a specific part of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla map and remove all their armor in order to let them die there. All of this is done to check whether avenge quest bodies will pop up for other players to interact with, in order to fulfill the challenge's requirements of avenging 10 separate players. The forum's participants were quick to answer the call. Some have allowed their own Eivors to perish while others shared their experience of whether or not they were able to receive the achievement.

Though not part of the achievement or trophy list on the Xbox or PlayStation, the "Hall of the Slain" challenge is part of the many rewards available on Ubisoft Connect, the company's rebranded gaming hub. Because many of the Ubisoft Connect rewards involve Opal, a valuable resource within the economy of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it is not surprising that many players have since focused their endgame efforts in completing the hub's list of achievements.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
