Fujifilm announces a collaboration with Nintendo and its most popular franchises, featuring a new Instax printer as well as filters for the film.

In collaboration with Nintendo, Fujifilm is launching an Instax Mini Link Printer app that can print screenshots from Nintendo franchises such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Mario along with a Nintendo-inspired printer. Users will also be able to decorate real photos with adorable frames from these popular Nintendo titles.

If there's one thing Animal Crossing: New Horizons is known for, it's being aesthetically pleasing, inspiring many collaborations from fashion companies like UNIQLO to makeup brands like ColourPop. In more recent months, thanks to New Horizons' massive success, collaborations with Nintendo's franchises have spread much farther than just Switch carrying cases, with even politicians making dedicated islands for marketing and promotions. Additionally, New Pokemon Snap might be another reason why Fujifilm is getting in on Nintendo's hype with a collaboration.

The Instax Mini Link Printer is already a device that allows users to print any photos from their smartphones with ease, but the camera company is now launching an app for the Nintendo Switch that will allow players to print screenshots from their Switch's as well.

Additionally, Fujifilm will release a number of Animal Crossing: New Horizons frames within the app that players can print onto the Instax Mini film. The app will contain 59 new frames and filters from not just Animal Crossing, but other Nintendo franchises as well such as Super Mario and Pokemon. A new Instax Mini Printer will be released alongside this collaboration with a red and blue trim inspired by the Switch.

According to Fujifilm, the app and printer are set to release on April 30. The Nintendo-inspired Mini Link Printer will run $100, but if players want the special Pikachu edition, they'll need to wait until May and put down $120. But the app will be free to download and will still work with existing Instax Mini Link printers.
