A trailer for the upcoming Valorant map leaks online, showcasing the new locale's tropical landscape and similarities to Icebox.

For the past few days, Riot Games has teased the arrival of Valorant's upcoming new map through tweets. The posts don't reveal when fans can expect to play the map, but they do show it will use a tropical theme, the complete opposite of its predecessor Icebox having a cold, arctic setting. The tweets also reveal the map will officially be called "Breeze." The name originally appeared in Vietnamese, but the Twitter account "Valorant Leaks" translated it.

With the help of two other Valorant fans, Valorant Leaks managed to dig up and post the Vietnamese version of Breeze's full trailer online. Being in Vietnamese, most international audiences won't understand a word of the trailer's narration, but they still get to see the new map. That said, any players who hoped Breeze would use a layout similar to the Valorant maps that came before Icebox will likely be disappointed.

From the looks of the trailer, Breeze shares the same kind of vertical map design as the controversial Icebox. It contains similar open fields that only have vertical objects to take cover behind, which creates a plethora of angles for players to keep track of and changes the game's pace from that of a tactical shooter to more of a run-and-gun. I t's impossible to confirm what the map plays like without actually playing on it, but the trailer does seem to hint at a primarily Icebox-style layout.

Hopefully, Riot Games managed to take some feedback from the community about Icebox and apply it to Breeze. Icebox didn't sit well with a good portion of Valorant players, and it came out during a time when they coveted a new Valorant map for the sake of shaking up the game's monotony. Many of these fans are still waiting for a new map they can enjoy and it has already been half a year since Icebox released, so it would be a shame for Breeze to come out and be more of the same.

As for Breeze's release date, it'll likely happen with the beginning of Valorant's Episode 2 Act 3. It makes sense given Valorant's Episode 2 Act 2 ends on April 27, and Valorant's account only started officially teasing Breeze on April 20. Icebox also launched with Act 3 of Valorant's Episode 1. All in all, if everything checks out, fans should be hearing about Breeze's release date soon.
