As Monster Hunter Rise players encounter and defeat new creatures, they will continuously unlock blueprints for new weapons and armor sets. While this serves as the primary method for unlocking new armor and weapon trees, Monster Hunter Rise players can also unlock several sets through the game's request system.
Requests serve as optional side quests that are given to players from various NPCs throughout the village. The quests are usually not as intensive as the hunts that players will be required to complete, but offer a variety of useful gear and village unlocks upon their completion.

In the "Boom-Boom, Bombadgy!" request, players are tasked by Komitsu the Sweettooth to "Take a picture of a Bombadgy bein' all gassy." As a reward for completing the request, players will unlock a new Hunting Horn design in the form of the "Grass Flute I." After unlocking this design, players will also be able to upgrade the Hunting Horn to the Grass Flute II and to its final form, Bombadgy's Cry.
Players will only be able to complete the request in the Shrine Ruins Region as this is currently the only biome where a Bombadgy can be found. It is worth noting that players can complete the request while on a hunt in the region, or through an expedition in the area.
After traveling to the Shrine Ruins, players will find the Bombadgy in the Zone 1 region which is located in the large clearing directly down the path from the starting point. In the clearing, players will find several Bombadgys, in addition to several Felynes roaming the area.
In order to complete the request, players must capture a picture of the Bombadgy deflating. As a result, players will want to prepare the camera to take the picture on short notice via the D-pad menu. Once players have the camera icon ready via the D-pad menu, they can easily press up on the directional pad in order to quickly pull out their camera and snap the picture.
To cause the Bombadgy to deflate, players must simply walk up to the creature and hit it with any weapon. When the Bombadgy is hit, it will begin to bounce around while exploding. After a brief moment of bouncing, the Bombadgy will lie down and quickly begin to deflate. When the Bombadgy is in this state, this is the opportune time to take the photo.
After players have acquired the photo, a prompt will appear informing them that the request has been completed. Players are now free to exit the hunt or expedition and return to Komitsu who will reward them with the Grass Flute design.
Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch, with a PC release slated for 2022.
