The Evercade VS is revealed with a release window, bringing the retro gaming experience of the original Evercade to televisions.

The Evercade VS, a home console version of the original Evercade, is set to release later this year, bringing the nostalgic experience to the TV.

It's common to see retro-inspired consoles pop up on the market now and again as players long to relive experiences from their childhoods. While gamers will sometimes make knockoff versions of the old Game Boys and other retro handhelds, Nintendo released the NES and SNES Classic editions for those wishing to replay the original hits legitimately. Then there are creations like the Playdate handheld console, which features its own catalog of brand-new games inspired by the classics. The Evercade VS does a combination of these things.

The original Evercade console is a handheld gaming console utilizing ROM cartridges, but legally. Publishers like Atari and Bandai Namco have released emulated versions of their games for the Evercade consoles, but The Evercade is capable of playing games that were released for many retro consoles including the NES and SNES as well. The Evercade VS is an upgraded home console version of the original Evercade handheld console.

Additionally, the Evercade VS is backward-compatible to the original Evercade, meaning all cartridges of officially licensed products for the Evercade will also work on the Evercade VS such as Dig Dug and Dig Dug 2which are bundled together in the Namco Collection cartridges made for the Evercade.

The Evercade VS will feature a brand-new interface that feels nostalgic but is smooth and crisp thanks to its modern technology. Additionally, the Evercade can be used as a controller when playing on the Evercade VS. Preorders for the home console begin May 2021.

The Evercade VS is set to release in November 2021.
