Thanks to the internet, fans of the SNES have been able to share their thoughts and experiences in the form of hilarious memes. Here are the funniest!

Despite being 30 years old, the legendary Super Nintendo Entertainment System, more commonly known as the SNES, has stayed within the minds of longtime gamers since they first played incredible genre-defining games like Frogger and Doom on this home gaming console.

With these strong memories of fun times, many players recall all the janky, unexpected, and random hilarity that also came with playing video games on this early '90s console. Thanks to the internet, fans of the classic Nintendo console have been able to share their thoughts and experiences in the form of comical images with relatable or witty captions.

10 Wrong Console, Pal

Despite only being able to play SNES games on the console, the slot that accommodates the cartridge is the exact same width as more modern game cases. This is likely due to shelving and storage reasons and design factors, however, it can lead to some funny visual memes.

9 Like A Megazord

While modern consoles have their fair share of add-on devices and accessories, none can match the sheer stackability of those meant for the SNES, for they can even join with cartridges meant for other consoles, even handheld ones. By joining up Game Genies, Game Wizards, and more, one can almost feel a power surging from the technological totem pole, regardless of the fact that this setup will never function as desired.

8 It Won't Fit!

Nintendo has been bombarded with questions as to why many of the older games for the SNES have not been remade for modern consoles, such as the Nintendo 3DS. They got so annoyed that they released this graphic to illustrate exactly why they cannot do as requested by fans, though this was clearly done humorously.

7 "This Isn't Even My Final Form"

Gamers make jokes about the golden special edition version of the SNES resembling something that has been aged and yellowed with time, however, there is an even more comical comparison that has been noticed by Dragon Ball fans.

Both the original SNES and the golden special edition are remarkably similar in appearance to Frieza in their fourth form as well as in their golden body.

6 The Most Portable Console Ever

There is a trend in the modern gaming industry where companies will release new versions of older consoles in more compact forms. This saves space and shows just how far technology has come, though, this brings up the question of what the future will hold. One clever individual decided to translate this thought into the meme format (an image with a caption) and revealed to the world what may be in store for gamers in a more ridiculous future. One where consoles are shrunk down to ant-sized proportions but the controllers are not.

5 Press Harder To Go Faster

As the SNES was created before the era where pressure sensitivity was a feature in most controllers, pressing the buttons harder did literally nothing different than pressing them gently. However, trying to explain that to someone who is mid-race and completely immersed in a virtual world is futile, for sometimes a placebo speed increase is enough to close the gap between oneself and whoever is currently in the lead.

4 He Really Was A Super Nintendo

In reference to the throwaway one-liner by the charming character from The Simpsons Ralph Wiggum, superintendent Chalmers gets reborn onto the surface of a SNES console. One can almost hear his voice judging and questioning principal Skinner by merely looking at this comical image.

Though, admittedly, it would be a bit disturbing to insert a cartridge into Chalmers' face to play a game or prod his chest for basic console functions.

3 If Only One Could Fight A Pandemic With Swords & Magic

While one can't actually defeat the Coronavirus with typical fantasy RPG tactics, the protagonists on the box art for Chrono Trigger certainly seem to be giving it their best shot by combining the power of face masks and hand sanitizer. This is an example that everyone can take note of, despite the humorous nature, for it is up to people to work together and act responsibly to prevent the spread of this disease.

2 Instructions; Not An Insult

This initially seems rude, but this meme is simply an instruction on how to get one's less cooperative SNES cartridges to work. Dust in the contact portions of games could prevent them from being read by the console, therefore a personal gust of wind can help to remove said debris with little risk of damaging the components within.

1 A Singleplayer Setup

Sure, setting up gaming systems all over one's home can be a novel and convenient way to enjoy some classic titles, however, some rooms were not meant to be gamer dens. One of these is the bathroom, as there is simply too much water nearby to allow many to get comfortable placing irreplaceable technology in proximity. This clearly did not stop one person from putting together a nostalgic gaming station in front of their toilet. They even made it possible for two players to enjoy this arrangement together, though, how pleasant this will be heavily depends on the duo participating.
