NieR Replicant has five separate endings that players can get if they are willing to put the time in for it, and each has special unlock requirements.

NieR Replicant offers a self-contained, decently long story that gives players what the game refers to as Ending A. While this is a satisfying conclusion, it isn't technically the true ending. If players want to see all five of the game's different endings and piece together what really happens at the end of the game, they are going to need to put in some time to play through the game several times. Thankfully, things change each time, meaning it shouldn't get too stale. The best way to see all five endings is to play through them in order, using different save files can help cut down on the time this will take.

NieR Replicant's five endings are lettered. Ending A is the standard ending that players will get for beating the game the first time, but all of the other ones have special requirements. Ending E is also exclusive to the updated version, so even veterans will find something new here. As this is covering the various endings and how to get them, there will be spoilers ahead.

As previously mentioned, getting Ending A simply requires players to complete the game the first time. While there are no special requirements to getting this, it is very important that players collect every weapon from the first half of the game. After reaching part 2, the only way to return to part 1 is by starting an entirely new save file, and these weapons will come in handy later.

After beating the game once and seeing Ending A, reloading the same save file will start players off right at the beginning of part 2. Simply play through the game again with new cutscenes and story details in order to get Ending B. Now players need to reload their game once more to start over at the same spot.

This time around there won't be anything new in terms of cutscenes, and the player's goal should be to collect every weapon in the game. Assuming the player already got the weapons from the first half, the next goal is to hunt down all weapons in Part 2. Before the new final boss encounter, create a duplicate save file. After beating the boss, choose to end the boss' life by stabbing them through the heart.

Reload the save file from right before attaining Ending C and fight the boss again. This can also be done simply by reloading the completed Ending C save file, finding all the Part 2 weapons again, and then fighting the boss. This time, choose to make the boss human again. This triggers Ending D and will delete all of the player's save files. Back up any important save files externally before choosing this option.

Ending E is new to the game, so players may be confused about how to get it. After achieving Ending D, start a brand new save file and name the character something different. Play through the story until Kaine joins the party. At this point, she will become the playable character and a brand new story will unfold.

NieR Replicant is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
