The Bernie Sanders inauguration meme continues to escalate, with one modder turning it into an actual playable character in SoulCalibur 6.

The image of Bernie Sanders sitting at Joe Biden's inauguration as President in casual clothing, a face mask, and home-made mittens quickly spread like wildfire across the Internet. Naturally, people had fun with it by combining it with recognizable video game imagery from the likes of Pokemon, Skyrim, and Minecraft, but now it's popping up in the games themselves, such as SoulCalibur 6.

Bandai Namco's weapon-based fighting game already features a few guest characters, like 2B from Nier: Automata and Geralt from The Witcher, and thanks to this new mod from User619, players can take control of Senator Sanders himself.

While it's entirely possible to create Sanders with SoulCalibur 6's extensive and detailed character creator, User619 seemed to wish to recreate the meme as accurately as possible, which means having Sanders sat in his chair. User619 used Azwel's moveset as the basis for Sanders; Azwel being the new antagonist of the game, who battles with a wide array of different weapons he can magically summon.

As demonstrated in the video, this means players can witness Sanders decimate the entire roster of skilled warriors without getting out of his chair or uncrossing his legs. Seeing the weapons magically appear around him, as he flips and spins all while remaining seated, almost makes him look like a powerful mage that players would fight as a final boss. And anyone who wants to try it out themselves for fun can download it from the link in the video description.

Between modding and the character creation, it seems like nearly anybody can be a fighter in SoulCalibur 6. A quick search online will yield the likes of Deadpool, Kassandra from Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and even Dr. Disrespect, and that's just through using the tools the game itself offers.

In terms of official characters, the game's second season pass came to a close back in December with the addition of Korean swordsman Hwang, who hasn't been seen since SoulCalibur 3. There's hope from some fans that Bandai Namco will continue to support the game with more DLC (after all, Tekken 7 now has four seasons of new content and that game's been out for longer than SoulCalibur 6), but it's arguably just as likely that it's ready to move onto another project.

At the time of writing, nothing has been officially confirmed by Bandai Namco. But, given that SoulCalibur 6 had a successful launch, fans can probably expect a SoulCalibur 7 in the future.

SoulCalibur 6 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
