The Fire Emblem series has become one of the fastest-rising franchises in Nintendo's repertoire. As the strategy game has sky-rocketed, characters have been added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate quite regularly. And now--as a rather funny joke--one modder has created a way for the entire cast of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to be removed other than Fire Emblem fighters.

While Fire Emblem is quite beloved, there have been complaints in the past about there being too many fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from the series. In fact, Sakurai says that he doesn't decide if Fire Emblem characters make it to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; a distinction he had to clarify. But even with those complaints, a modder has made it so that the game can be played with Fire Emblem fighters alone--no one else.

A modder by the name of Akrenix has released a mod called "No, More Fire Emblem!" This makes it so that the only fighters in the game are Marth, Lucina, Roy, Chrom, Ike, Robin, Corrin, and Byleth. The mod also only allows players to fight on Fire Emblem stages. Interestingly enough, this same modder recently released a mod that removes all Fire Emblem content from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. 

Many wonder if it is a chicken or an egg sort of thing when it comes to the popularity of Fire Emblem that has coincided with the cast being added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. On one hand, Marth and Roy were a part of Super Smash Bros. Melee and few knew where they even were, so the game helped catapult them to fame (like Captain Falcon or Ness). However, characters like Lucina or Robin have joined the crew right in the thick of the success of the Fire Emblem series.
