CD Projekt Red opens up early-access registration on Android devices for its upcoming mobile title The Witcher: Monster Slayer.

A few days ago, CD Projekt Red announced that fans can expect Spokko's upcoming mobile title The Witcher: Monster Slayer to release sometime this summer. CD Projekt Red CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said the publisher already soft-launched the game in several countries and has applied feedback to the title. As a result, its hard launch date is fast approaching, but he didn't state when specifically beyond Monster Slayer releasing this summer.

Before The Witcher: Monster Slayer makes its official debut, CD Projekt Red decided to do another soft-launch, this time in the US. The developer set up early-access registration on the game's official site, which fans can complete if they want to experience The Witcher: Monster Slayer's gameplay for themselves. The site doesn't give an exact date for when the soft launch will happen, only a time frame set for the end of April.

The game will soft-launch on Google Play, so fans interested in participating will need an account. From there, early access registration is simple enough. To do it, potential players should go to "thewitcher.com," where they'll see The Witcher: Monster Slayer under the "Games'' section. Clicking on it will bring them to Monster Slayer's homepage, and here they'll see a giant red button prompting them to "register now." Once they follow the instructions provided, they should be all set.

From the sounds of Nielubowicz's statements regarding a summer release, the hard launch for The Witcher: Monster Slayer may happen sometime in late June or early July. The US sounds like one of, if not the last place CD Projekt Red plans to have a test launch for Monster Slayer. So, if the developer plans for a summer release date, the game's hard launch will likely happen sometime soon. Of course, the soft launch could last longer than expected, but fans can hope for the former.

For those planning on registering for The Witcher: Monster Slayer to see what it's about, the game plays something like Pokemon GO. Players walk about with their phones out, but instead of encountering Pokemon to capture as trainers, they'll encounter monsters to hunt as Witchers. It'll be interesting to see how CD Projekt Red and developer Spokko plans to adapt the Pokemon GO formula to Monster Slayer, as Niantic tailored it to the Pokemon franchise which The Witcher franchise obviously differs from.
