Sumo Digital reveals a new coastal region map that players can explore in its upcoming medieval multiplayer title, Hood: Outlaws and Legends.

Sumo Digital and Focus Home Interactive’s new multiplayer Hood: Outlaws and Legends is slated for release this May 2021, and interested gamers are likely clamoring for more detailed information about the title. As a way to feed public interest, the development team continues to share new action-packed trailers about Hood: Outlaws and Legends unique gameplay and features. Now, the team has put the spotlight on a new coastal region map that players can explore and exploit within the game’s medieval setting.

Announced back in 2020, during Sony’s August State of Play, Hood: Outlaws and Legends was likely put on players’ radars through its distinctive multiplayer battle system. In the game, players are divided into two teams of four, with each team tasked to steal and safely carry out a specific item from a government stronghold that is fully equipped to fend off raids. Though the objective may seem quite simple, the challenge arrives when each team comes face-to-face to duke it out in a bid to take the item from each other.

In the new video trailer uploaded on the publisher’s YouTube channel, the development team showcases a new coastal region map named Caer Merthyr. Divided into three points of interest, the map will have a fortress, a keep, and a small town sandwiched between the two heavily-guarded structures. Players are warned that each area in the Hood: Outlaws and Legends map will be distinct, and may require a variety of ways to traverse between them.

Though no Hood: Outlaws and Legends PvPvE gameplay was shown in the map trailer, it does provide players with some insight on how to become successful in their heists through the different strongholds. The video shares that patrols will be made between the three areas, allowing players a chance to ambush in-game soldiers as a possible way to soften the security within the fortresses. And with a lot of medieval structures in the keeps and within town, it is highly indicated that the game’s Ranger class will have an easy enough time in taking down roaming guards or lurking opponents.

With the four different Hood: Outlaws and Legends classes available, players are given a variety of ways to play the game. As each class has its own special advantages and tricks, the experience will likely vary, especially in such a large map like Caer Merthyr. Though no information is confirmed about other maps in the game, hopefully the development team will share more news as the launch date draws nearer.

Hoods: Outlaws and Legends will be released on May 10, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
