Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies fans have a new batch of intel to collect for Season 3, all of which can be found inside Outbreak.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies fans have a staggering 48 pieces of intel to collect in Season 3, giving those invested in the lore a lot to do over the next several months. Fortunately, the systems behind the various types of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War intel remain the same.

Much like Season 2 Reloaded’s intel, all the locations are tied to Outbreak. As a result, players only interested in intel do not need to play Die Maschine or Firebase Z this season, as the open-world Zombies mode houses all the new collectibles for players to track down. Spread evenly throughout the mode’s regions, including the new Duga location, players will have some set spots to search every time they warp to a fresh area. The locations for all the new intel drops are as follows.

Led by CIA member Grigori Weaver, Requiem is made up of the player-controlled Operators and the various agents that assist them over the radio. The “good guys” of the Dark Aether story, the intel found in Season 3 continues to flesh out the characters’ histories.

  • Radio Transmission 1-3: Players can collect three transmissions from Requiem, though only one can be obtained each game. Each region features a radio transmission location, however, making them easier to collect. In Ruka, it is found on the table in the main building of the Cargo Platform area. In Golova, it is on top of the larger Granary silo that gamers can zipline up to. In Sanatorium, it is on the top floor of the large yellow house, resting within an office. In Alpine, it is seen as soon as players enter the Bathhouse. Finally, the Radar Control area in the new Duga region houses the last transmission in its Listening Post building. On the top floor, players can find the radio in a room with wooden walls.
  • Documents 1-4: These are dropped by special enemies like Mimics and Manglers. They are not map specific, though only one document will be dropped per game.
  • Artifact 1 (Sanatorium): To the left of the mechanic shop, players can find a small building with an overhanging orange roof. It can easily be jumped on, and a canister for the Energy Mine field upgrade can be found on top.
  • Artifact 2 (Sanatorium): If players head to the left of the large white bridge, they will find a small wooden pier. On this pier sits the Requiem patch collectible.
  • Artifact 3 (Duga): At the North of the map, players can find a series of bunkers. To the left of the utmost bunker is a small white shed, and the Essence Explosive is seen inside.
  • Audio Log 1 (Duga): In the northernmost section of Duga, players can find a Chemical Processing building. The audio log will be on the second floor, with a desk in the room on the right serving as its resting place.
  • Audio Log 2 (Duga): Players will see a large, cylindrical building at the SAM site area in the Northeast corner of the map. The audio log is in the center of this building.
  • Audio Log 3 (Duga): In the bunker labeled A, players will find this log on a green crate with a red star. The crate is in the center of the bunker.
  • Audio Log 4 (Alpine): At the very top of the large Lodge where Pack-A-Punch is held, this audio log is seen resting on a long red table.

The villainous Omega Group gets plenty of intel in Season 3 as well, with players able to learn more about Dr. Peck and the mysterious foes that surround him. Like Requiem, their intel items are scattered throughout each region.

  • Radio Transmissions 1-3: Once again, only one of these can be picked up each match. There is a location in every region, however. Ruka’s is found in a long green tent on the left side of the Missile Silos area. Golova’s is found on the second floor of the Upper Town building that houses the Pack-A-Punch machine, specifically on the left side. Sanatorium’s transmission is seen in the Administration building, and it is once again found in a side room of the second floor. Alpine’s transmission sits on a pool table on the second floor of the pool shop, while Duga’s is seen in one of the small buildings at Secure Communications. The area is right in the center of the map, and all 6 buildings are identical.
  • Artifact 1 (Ruka): Before players head up the ramp to the huge wooden bridge in Ruka, they will see a white overhang on the left side. In the front of this overhang is a small tree, and the Mangler Cannon rests against it.
  • Artifact 2 (Sanatorium): In the bathhouse, players will see Peck’s ID badge above a towel. The towel and badge are in a storage container attached to one of the hot tubs, which players should be able to see clearly when in the center of the room.
  • Artifact 3 (Duga): In the Admin Offices building with a statue on the outside, players will be able to find a Boost Module. They will want to head up several flights of stairs. On the second-to-last floor, the artifact can be collected from the front right room.
  • Audio Log 1 (Ruka): This audio log is resting up against the small white building to the right of the trial machine.
  • Audio Log 2 (Sanatorium): In the Sanatorium Night region, players will see that there are four pillars on top of the Sanatorium itself. When looking from the Pier, the front right pillar is the one players want to reach the top of. That same pier offers a jump pad, which can be used to parachute straight onto the pillar where the log sits.
  • Audio Log 3 (Duga): On the East side of Duga, players can find the Research labs. The audio log is seen in the bottom building, directly to the right of the building with the armor stand.
  • Audio Log 4 (Duga): On the middle floor of the Admin Offices, players will find a meeting room with a long table in the center and several portraits on the wall. The audio log is in the center of the table.

The true protagonist of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies storyline, Samantha Maxis is a playable operator and a major source of lore. Offering what are arguably the most interesting collectibles of all the factions, her intel is seen in the following places.

  • Artifact 1 (Golova): This is found on top of the crafting table building. To reach it, players will need to use the jump pad by the gas station and fly themselves over to the blue roof. Maxis’ watch rests against one of the building’s pillars.
  • Artifact 2: (Sanatorium): By the box located at the South of Sanatorium, players will find Market Square. On a picnic table under the tent-like roof, Maxis’ goggles can be seen.
  • Artifact 3: (Duga): On the bottom floor of the Listening Post, Sam’s scarf can be seen resting on a key holder.
  • Artifact 4 (Duga): On the far West of the map near the boundaries, the farmland can be found. Players will want to head to the South of the road, aiming for the shack that is the furthest away from the other buildings. Up against some hay in this shack, the Katana Sam inherited from Takeo Masaki can be found.
  • Audio Log 1 (Golova): In the upper town jail directly to the left of the Pack-A-Punch building. It is in the small office on the upper right side, across from the armor stand.
  • Audio Log 2 (Golova): On the bottom floor of the massive church, players can find some back rooms. In the center of this hallway, there will be two doors. The one on the left holds the collectible.
  • Audio Log 3 (Duga): Under the bunkers on the Southwest side of the map, Call of Duty Zombies players can find some warehouses. The large blue warehouse holds this audio log, and it is seen on the back desk of the second floor.
  • Audio Log 4 (Duga): On the far West side of the map, near the end of the road that leads to the region’s boundary, players will find a red farmhouse. On the second-floor bed rests the recording.

An interesting section of intel for Call of Duty Zombies fans, the Dark Aether collectibles detail the stories from people trapped in the twisted dimension. Noises from creatures can also be heard, adding to the fun of these collectibles.

  • Trial Rewards 1-9: These documents and audio logs are rewarded from completing specially marked intel trials. Players can earn 2-3 per game, so it is not possible to get all the new trial intel in a single match. They can be done in any region.
  • Artifact 1 (Sanatorium): An empty can of the iconic Call of Duty Zombies perk Speed Cola is found in the kitchen of the brown and white Vacation home. Found on the far East of the map, the home is on the upper right and is the closest to the boundaries of the map.
  • Artifact 2 (Alpine): On the second floor of the lodge that holds Pack-A-Punch, players should go into the first room on the left. There, they will see a Dragon head above the red bed.
  • Artifact 3 (Duga): On the middle level of the giant array that Duga is centered around, players will find a Broken Essence Capsule. To reach it, ziplining to the upper levels and then going down the stairs will be most effective. Players should be able to see it on the metal scaffolding across from them, and they can carefully vault over the barrier to pick it up. When looking at the map, it is on the northern part of the array.

As always, Call of Duty Zombies players on PlayStation can get a few bonus pieces of intel from playing the Zombies Onslaught mode. The intel is found by killing special enemies, and one can be earned per game. The three new pieces are found on the Yamantau multiplayer map. If more new intel comes to the current Outbreak maps, Zombies fans can expect it to arrive in Season 3 Reloaded.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
