Players who are tackling side quests in NieR Replicant can use this guide to find the rare Eagle Egg item, which is also useful in upgrading weapons.

Fans of NieR Replicant who are on the path towards absolute completion of the game will spend a lot of time grinding outside quests. Many of the early quests are fairly simple and straightforward. Others require rare materials or mastering a difficult minigame. One troublesome errand is the "On the Wings of Eagles" quest. This guide will explain where to find the extremely rare Eagle Egg item that is needed to complete the task.

On the Wings of Eagles is a quest that becomes available after fulfilling a couple of other prerequisites early on in NieR Replicant. The job is available from the Tavern Keeper in the protagonist's home village. The player must have completed the NPC's first quest, "The Tavern Keeper's Grandmother." It is also necessary to proceed in the main story beyond the point where a Shaman Fish was brought back to Yonah. Speaking to the Tavern Keeper at that time will activate a quest to collect an Eagle Egg from The Aerie in order to make more medicine for the ailing grandmother.

The Eagle Egg is obtainable in a very specific location within The Aerie. Even then, there is a random chance that the gathering node will spawn when visiting the village. The best course of action is to save the game at the entrance to The Aerie. Players who investigate the Eagle Egg spawning location to no avail can then reload the game and try again. The Eagle Egg is rare, so it may be necessary to try multiple times.

To reach the exact location where Eagle Eggs are found, players should proceed through The Aerie as if going to the village chief's house. After crossing the final bridge toward the golden house, it's best to go left and descend the ladder. Players will find themselves approaching a home directly beneath the chief's house. This is where the Eagle Egg can be found. If no such item is present, it may be necessary to reload the game and make another attempt.

It should be noted that Eagle Eggs become a precious commodity for upgrading weapons later in the game. Prudent players may choose to dedicate a large chunk of time to farming these eggs while they happen to be in The Aerie for this quest. But as a gentle reminder, the Eagle Egg quest is not available until after finishing the chore of gathering Royal Ferns for the Tavern Keeper.

Suffice it to say, many fans will spend a lot of time hunting for resources and completing fetch quests in NieR Replicant. It may seem like a drag at first, but players would be remiss if they did not take the time to explore the world and take the time to accumulate experience and cash. Longtime RPG fans will be familiar with the questing grind, and newcomers can find a sense of fulfillment and immersion in it as well.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
