A bunch of people named 'Josh' managed to make the tag '#JoshFight' trend after a carefully planned 'fight' took place in the middle of nowhere.

In a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and unrest, people worldwide have found a new connection with others. This can be said for the event that occurred on April 24, when a group of Josh's had a "fight" to decide who was the real "Josh," setting up "#JoshFight" as one of the top trending topics across social media.

What started as a targeted campaign towards people with the name "Josh Swain" soon expanded to everyone with the name "Josh." In a Facebook message, combatants were told to meet at the GPS coordinates  40.8223287, -96.7982002 (Middle Creek, Nebraska, just off of Interstate 80) at noon local time.

The announcement of the battle royale set off the trend "#JoshFight," which featured commentary and even streaming video of the event. After announcing who they were, a series of rock-paper-scissors matches were enacted, which led to the "brawl." As the mass of Joshes encircled, they began the main fight by swinging pool noodles around.

Many combatants wore costumes, such as Spider-Man and Chewbacca, adding flair to the gathering. While many Josh's fought valiantly, a winner was named. The champion, entitled "Little Josh," was given reign over the name "Josh." The anointed "Little Josh" was none other than a 5-year-old who had joined in on the "Josh Fight."

While seemingly wholesome, large gatherings are still discouraged in this manner, especially with such little space between all people who attended. While most could be seen wearing masks, it is still important to take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at any cost. However, with the increased vaccination push in the United States, there stands to be a chance that the "Josh Fight" will be nothing more than good fun.

With most escapes for people in a struggling year being streaming services and video game products, a group of Josh's set out to make headlines and prove who was the real "Josh." Hundreds of Josh's made the tag  "#JoshFight" trend and secured what might be one of the strangest stories of 2021.
