Diablos is a high-tier monster in the Monster Hunter series and maintains that status in Rise, but one player has taken it down in record time.

Longtime Monster Hunter fans are no doubt familiar with Diablos, as it's essentially a series staple at this point. Naturally then, it returns to Monster Hunter Rise as a late game monster. Given the fact that it's a late Monster Hunter Rise monster, it might be reasonable to expect that it would be hard to take down. Despite that, it can apparently fall quite easily, as one player has managed to defeat it in under two minutes.

Team Darkside on YouTube is known for creating some rather impressive Monster Hunter videos such as one where they defeat Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate's flagship monster Valstrax in one hit. It doesn't come as a huge shock then that they are the ones who have posted a video of them defeating Diablos in single player with a total time of 1 minute and 39 seconds.

In the video, the hunter is equipped with the rampage bow. For those unfamiliar with Monster Hunter Rise's rampage systems, each weapon class has a weapon that can be forged with materials gained from the game's tower defense-style rampage missions. The unique thing about these weapons is that they can be fine-tuned to the player's liking.  From the video, it can be seen that the bow in question has been equipped with the ice element and rapid type arrows. Diablos is weakest to ice, so this makes sense, and rapid arrows seem to be widely agreed upon to be the most generally useful arrow type among the fanbase.

Other than bringing in the right equipment, Team Darkside also makes extremely efficient use of one of the bow's silkbind switch skills: Aerial Aim. Viewers will notice that it's used pretty much any time there's an opening and the hunter has wirebugs for it. Because it's a silkbind attack, it deals mounting damage which gives them a free knockdown by using wyvern riding and sending Diablos into a wall.

Also key to the success of the speed run is fast traveling. Darkside uses one of the unlockable-sub camps in the Sandy Plains to fast travel across the map, drastically cutting down their travel time. Impressively, they open the map to fast travel essentially instantly after the animation for their use of demon powder ends. Aside from demon powder which increases attack, a might seed and bottle of dash juice are used as well. The former increases attack and stacks with demon powder, while the dash juice decreases stamina depletion allowing for almost constant firing and power shots from the bow, ensuring a high charge on all the shots being used.

At the end of the video, they show the skills and build they used to accomplish such a feat. Among the skills are maxed out ice attack, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like and weakness exploit which increases critical damage when attacking a weakpoint, like Diablos' wings when using a bow.

Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch, with a PC release slated for 2022.
