Seraphine is a love/hate hero for most League of Legends players. Here's a look at some things you may not know about her.

There is a total of 140 champions currently available in League of Legends, and that number keeps on going up. The game has come a long way since only having 40 champions as choices when first released. One of these options is Seraphine, the Starry-Eyed Songstress.

She was born in Piltover and Zaun to parents of each culture. Seraphine possesses the power to hear the souls of others...put more eloquently, "the world sings to her, and she sings back." These sounds used to overwhelm her when she was younger, but now they inspire her. Seraphine's world was once chaos, now it is a symphony. She performs often, striving to let the citizens of cities nearby and far away that they are not alone and that they are stronger together. Seraphine sees the best in people and believes each and every person has limitless potential.

8 Chromesthesia And Ice Cream

It just so happens that Seraphine has chromesthesia. When she is overwhelmed with auditory stimulation, she gains the power to see colors and shapes within the sounds themselves. Also, Seraphine's spells revolve around her voice, more specifically sound waves.

Besides that, her favorite flavor of ice cream is cotton candy!

7 Magical Hearing

Due to Seraphine's ability of magical hearing, she can understand the Brackern. They are a species of sapient, crystalline scorpions in Shurima that possess magical powers. However, only when Piltover and Zaun are at peace can she actually communicate with them.

That being said, Jayce beat her to the punch. He, the Defender of Tomorrow, was the first champion ever to hear the Brackern's soul song. Jayce is an inventor who wields a hammer and protects the City of Progress.

6 Dance Dance Revolution

Seraphine's joke animation is actually a reference to the popular video game Dance Dance Revolution. This game came out originally in Japan in 1998 but in North America and Europe in 1999. To play, people will dance on a platform containing arrows, doing their best to hit the right ones in the right order at the right time.

In fact, her outfit was designed to set her apart from the rest of the people from Piltover and Zaun, as she looks like a pop star (not an ordinary citizen). Piltover and Zaun were once unified as one, but are now separate. Still, their societies remain symbiotic. Piltover is successful and progressive, especially in arts and crafts. Zaun is vibrant and technological, though polluted and dangerous.

5 Origin Of The Name

The name Seraphine apparently has Hebrew roots as well as French. (Before her official naming, the placeholders were "Ellipsis Mage" and "Idol.") Actually, thematically, she is quite similar to Sona...while Sona leans towards musical "aura," Seraphine leans towards musical "rhythm."

It means "burning ones." In fact, Seraphine is the Gallic version of Seraphina. In Jewish culture, the "seraphim" are angels of the highest-ranking in their god's eyes. Additionally, the seraphim have six wings and are infamous for loving zealously.

4 "You're Breathtaking!"

One of Seraphines quotes is "You're all breathtaking!"

This is a reference to the presentation of CD Project Red's Cyberpunk 2077 by Keanu Reeves at Microsoft Xbox E3's press conference in June 2019. While on stage, an attendee shouted "You're breathtaking!" to Reeves after he said, "Let me tell you. The feeling of being there, of walking the streets of the future is going to be breathtaking!" regarding the game. In response to the attendee, he said, "You're breathtaking! You're breathtaking! You're all breathtaking!"

3 Pop Culture

There are numerous pop culture references within Seraphine's quotes in the game. For example, "Wonder if that third guy from the left ever came here... Oh, wait, I need to focus!" is a reference to Jin from the Korean boy band BTS. Aside from that, "Peekaboo!" is a reference to the Korean girl band Red Velvet.

Aside from those, her quote "Like sour candy!" is a reference to Lady Gaga's song "Sour Candy." On top of that, Seraphine's quote "Don't start now!" is a reference to "Don't Start Now" by Dua Lipa. And, her quote "Let's cut to the feeling!" is a reference to "Cut to the Feeling" by Carly Rae Jepsen.

2 An Actual Pop Star

Seraphine — that's right, the character — released three covers and an original song voiced by Jasmine Clarke. These tracks are "Childhood Dreams" by ARY, "POP/STARS" by K/DA, and "All The Things She Said" by t.A.T.u. The original song is called "Made Me This Way."

As a matter of fact, Seraphine's lore is similar to Clarke's actual life. She was born to an Australian father and a Chinese mother. The family then moved to Los Angeles.

1 Michele Panu

Seraphine's voice actor is Michele Panu. She is most notably known for her role as Sarah Ho in Modern Family, Kirstin Hoyle in NCIS, and Young Kim in Rush Hour.

Aside from these roles, she was Ann in Comedy Bang! Bang!, Sandy in Textbook Adulthood, Tiffany in Future Man, Paula in Deadly Scholars, Koro in Homeroom, Maddie in Breathe, and Stephanie in Apart, Together.
