Seemingly out of nowhere, Days Gone developer Bend Studio releases a code for fans to get their hands on a free dynamic theme for the game on PS4.

Days Gone released to mixed reviews when it first launched in 2019, but the game has found itself the center of attention lately. Fans are signing petitions for a Days Gone 2 after a report indicated that Sony passed on the sequel due to the original game's review scores, and it seems many are looking forward to the PC port as well. With Days Gone currently the talk of the town, developer Bend Studio is releasing a dynamic theme for the game, though it will only be available for a very limited time.

Bend Studio has released a Days Gone Old Sawmill dynamic theme that PlayStation 4 users can download right now. The catch is that this Days Gone PS4 dynamic theme is only going to be available to download today only. Those in the US, Canada, and Latin America can use the code G98M-2AN3-L6L4 at the PlayStation Store to claim their free dynamic theme. Those in Europe, Japan, Korea, and Asia regions can check out Bend Studio's tweet for their specific codes.

Since Days Gone originally released for the PS4 two years ago, it seems a bit random that Bend Studio decided to release this dynamic theme. But as previously mentioned, Days Gone is in the spotlight lately, and so that may have factored into the decision. Besides the controversy surrounding Days Gone 2, a lot of attention has been given to the game's upcoming PC port.

The Days Gone PC port is set to launch on May 18, following in Horizon Zero Dawn's footsteps as a PlayStation exclusive game making the jump to PC. Days Gone on PC will sport some exclusive features not available in the PS4 version of the game, including a more impressive overall performance and better graphics.

The new bells and whistles available in the Days Gone PC port have led to speculation that a PS5 port could eventually release for the game as well. Bend Studio has made no such announcement, but it would make sense. A variety of games have already being re-released for PS5 with new features and performance enhancements, and so there's no reason why Days Gone should be left out. If nothing else, it would give the game a second chance at a first impression.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see what Bend Studio works on next. Reports indicate that Bend Studio is currently developing an original IP after previously working on an Uncharted game of some kind after the Days Gone 2 pitch was rejected. Fans will have to wait for more specific details, and with Days Gone having just released a couple of years ago, it may be some time before fans get a look at Bend Studio's next project.

Days Gone is out now for PS4 with a PC release coming on May 18.
