World of Warcraft streamer TinyViolin69 is banned from the game while on livestream, and fan reaction isn't what one might expect.

Getting banned while livestreaming on Twitch is always an interesting debacle. Sometimes it happens to popular and respected streamers with absolutely no explanation, and other times people that should have gotten banned will somehow avoid it entirely. Typically this stirs up a bit of controversy one way or another, but World of Warcraft streamer TinyViolin69 has united viewers in a different way. Rather than banding together to defend the streamer, most people celebrated this ban.

For those that don't know, TinyViolin69 is notorious for griefing in World of Warcraft Classic. While technically not cheating, this is essentially the act of actively attempting to make the game worse for other players. This alone may not have constituted a ban, but the streamer was running 16 different accounts simultaneously, all of which were both payed for and boosted. Blizzard handed down a ban on all 16 of the accounts that TinyViolin69 was using to grief other players and ruin the experience of playing the game.

In World of Warcraft, World Buff sites play an important role in PVP. Players that manage to do the hard work required to get one are offered a huge advantage over others that haven't, so many players rely heavily on them. In order to ruin the game for others, TinyViolin69 spent a ton of time sitting at World Buff sites and dispelling the buffs off of players immediately after they were acquired. Naturally, players and viewers alike weren't too fond of him doing this.

Players discuss the ban on r/livestreamfails, and the general consensus seems to be that most agree he deserves it. His behavior adds nothing to the game in any way, and the decision to stream it live for everyone to see is even more shocking. There's no word from Blizzard about how long this ban will last, but it is entirely possible that it will end up being indefinite. Given the high profile that TinyViolin69 has, it would be difficult for him to get around this by simply making new accounts. This and the fact that his own Twitch viewers are highly likely to report him means he probably won't be coming back any time soon.

That is just speculation though, and there's really no way to tell how long the ban will last or how TinyViolin69 will handle it. There are even reports that the streamer was charging certain players real money in order to avoid getting dispelled.
