Elden Ring Fans Are Still Venting With Memes | Game Rant

With the Elden Ring community still having no new footage of the game to talk about, memes are proving to be a solid coping mechanism.

Elden Ring is one of the most anticipated games currently known about, with the reveal trailer that released a few years back quickly sparking interest in many FromSoftware fans. However, this was the last bit of concrete information released for the game, and the Elden Ring community has certainly been struggling to hide its disappointment.

Shortly before Elden Ring’s no-show at The Game Awards, a brief teaser was released that sent fans of the game into a frenzy. Many funny memes resulted, with players expecting some major news after the teaser. That news never came, though, and while the expectations died down, the memes did not. The Elden Ring subreddit is still full of memes, with many of the best aimed at just how long it has been since the game has been shown publicly.

With players only having leaked info and Elden Ring’s announcement trailer to comb through, one would think that the well would have run dry by now when it comes to memes. That is not the case, though, as several great images can be seen littered across the Elden Ring subreddit – such as the one seen above where TheSpawnofChaos adds a copy of Elden Ring to Bloodborne’s Moon Prescence. Another meme from the Redditor mrfahrenheit depicts a fan wishing for the game to arrive upon meeting with a genie, and the request brings the wish-granter to tears.

Another popular trend sees one fan making Elden Ring director and gaming icon Hidetaka Miyazaki more transparent every day “until the game is released.” A common Reddit solution to lengthy waits, as the same was done with Thanos until Avengers: Endgame’s trailer was released, this meme from SavingMegalixers is a hilarious one. With the game likely still a fair bit away from release, though, the Soulsborne visionary will surely be either barely visible or entirely transparent before the launch of Elden Ring.

The final meme getting attention amongst Elden Ring fans is from Reddit user HahaLookyhere, and it may be the best of the bunch. Showing off a gif from a spear-dodging competition, the post is titled “leaked footage of Miyazaki dodging every game event he could have shown Elden Ring at.” Replacing the spear-dodgers face with Miyazki’s and the weapon user’s with the Game Awards, PlayStation, and Xbox logos, the edited video is a hilarious way to depict the wait for a meaningful Elden Ring update.

While it is unclear when Elden Ring fans will see more than just some leaked concept art, more memes will surely come while the wait continues. If they are as funny as these, checking in on the Elden Ring community from time to time could certainly be worthwhile.

Elden Ring is currently in development, with PC, PS4, and Xbox One as confirmed platforms.
