An upcoming update will include several changes to Call of Duty: Warzone weapons, with one nerf impacting an unexpected option for fans.

Nerfs and buffs rotate through Call of Duty: Warzone on a near-weekly basis. While it is hard to predict which guns will receive adjustments next, a recent announcement targeted an unexpected option. Call of Duty: Warzone has revealed several balance adjustments coming to the CR-56 AMAX, FARA 83, and Bullfrog weapons in the future.

While many fans have requested adjustments to Call of Duty: Warzone's FARA 83 and Bullfrog, the CR-56 AMAX adjustment came as a surprise. The FARA 83 and Bullfrog have been called broken in the game's meta for a while, but the Cr-56 AMAX is considered an underpowered gun. Once this nerf was revealed, fans questioned the weapon and its state in the game's meta system.

The update was announced today, and Call of Duty: Warzone's developers, and fans immediately focused on the adjustment to the CR-56 AMAX, which once dominated the meta. It has been several seasons since the weapon caused any problems, but developers appear to be balancing it nonetheless. While the title only says "balance adjustments," many fans are expecting a nerf as developers have been reducing stats on weapons throughout the game. Call of Duty: Warzone has many guns in need of a nerf, but fans believe the CR-56 AMAX is not one of them.

One player on Twitter who goes by Sgorr noticed the AMAX on the list. As the Call of Duty: Warzone player points out, with the Cr-56 AMAX being adjusted, many will lose their long-to-mid range option in the assault rifle category. This is assuming the update is a nerf rather than a buff, which may bring the weapon back into Call of Duty: Warzone's meta if it happens.

Another fan on Twitter, Barlton, predicts a larger impact in the upcoming update. The developers have been adjusting weapons, and many of the nerfs make guns underpowered compared to other options. If the trend continues, it is possible that all the weapons will be underpowered, and the game will slowly become unplayable to many, according to the player. The Call of Duty: Warzone community seems like it would rather see buffs than continued nerfs to fan-favorite options.

While the update is still unknown, many players are expecting major changes. Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 has several new weapons to consider, and balancing the game could be an attempt at improving the overall experience. Call of Duty: Warzone fans will just have to wait until the update is officially revealed.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
